Are prisons too soft

The problem with prisons is that they are "soft". Any criminal with half a brain cell left can get out on good behavior in half their sentence. Put on top of that complaints about poor conditions and such and you have a 2 star hotel, not a prison.

Prisons used to be a deterrent, you didn't commit crimes because prison was just too bad. Now prisons are more of an escape than a punishment.

Being in that jail cell all the time. No much real life. I think they have their punishment right there.

Prison isnt supposed to be hell. IF we wanted them to suffer, they would have killed them. And don't worry about it. Let them do whatever they want, it isnt hurting you. You just want people to suffer for their actions that we know they're sorry for.
