where I grew up school was more often cancelled because it was ridiculously cold, not so much for snow. I believe -40 was the cutoff.

wouldn't say they take away from summer, though! unless you have to go extra days to make it up?

We have had one snowday in the entire year, none lkast year, or the year before. We've ben gettin less and less snow...it sux But We still have enough snow to go like ice skating in the park and snowball fights, so Canadian winers arent so bad here
