Posted 6 Aug 2011 Well, they don't instantly expire so much as monsters would make short work of them. Basically, the Deku Tree would no longer be able to protect them if they left the forest, and they aren't capable of defending themselves very well. At the end of the game, it would be easier to travel Hyrule safely since Link pretty much drove all the monsters away, so they'd have no problem making it to the party.
