The grandfather clock struck twelve with a loud bang that pierced the silence of that cold, rainy night. It was that very

moment that the crime was committed. It was an inside job. No one suspected a thing.

At 2:00 the following afternoon, a very distressed woman knocked on Mr. Thursday

Better than my story.... for school... that was supposed to be 600 words long but ended up being 1200 words long.

It won the best story award in my class though. I failed the criteria that mention "600 words".
