now another kid in the group (who lives in walking distance of her) is going to tell her what i planned.

but I have another plan instead of going up and just kissing her on the first day of school I'll just tell her I have a crush on her and ask her out.

This to me sounds like a better plan! but why dont you do it sooner i don't see why you wouldnt, because if other people have crushes on her then they might ask frist then she might say yes to them, but i dont know her, some girls can't say no. But it is all up to you!
