Awesome I'll have to check those out!
  2. The Beguiling Bard » Stormsworder

Oh, no. That's not what I mean. Just because they have equal representation, doesn't mean they're all best buddies, but they aren't at eachother's throats anymore. The xenophobia is mostly played out in politics. I'll get myself an IM.

Go to MSN.com or Yahoo.com and find where they say Messenger, then follow the instructions to downnload. I'm not sure if all the races should be all equal and happy... as I'm sure there are still some racial prejudices at times.
  4. The Beguiling Bard » Ivo-goji

You and I are freedom fighters? That's ironic. Your first character enslaved a bokoblin army, right? Anyway, we'll have to work on a secret handshake and password for la Resitance. Just for laughs, Shad could wear a Guy Fawkes mask and carve V's into books he's read.

Farming in Ordon is a good choice. It could contrast the highly developed Hylians quite well. The Gorons are certainly steampunk, and the Zora are nautical mystics. The Zora King from Ocarina reminds me of the Buddah, how he sits so passively on his ledge, and his people still revere him for it. They are likely a model of zen Buddhists or some such. Did I already say the humans are quasi shinto?

I'm thinking there is a rift between the Hylain Knights and Human Knights. The humans get land grants in Snowpeak, as well as edu. and citizenship. It could be seen as favoritism, and many Hylian regular knights may have been working with demogogues in the Plenum to see the humans never get equal representation with the other races, playing on the prejudices of the people to sway the Royal ...

How do I get an IM?
Yeah, I like the possible conflict of creation beliefs, too. It makes them unique beyond looking differently. Yeah, the nations are far appart, I mean, Hyrule could "actually" be pangea or something similar in size. Naw, that'd be too enormous, but the point is we really don't know. I just like the idea of Knight-regents as govenors, otherwise they'r...

I'm not sure I'd even have much like that... I'm trying to keep with the geography of Hyrule in TP, so most farming places and stuff like that would be nestled somewhere within Faron or Ordon. It's pretty much the Hyrulean Guard that is in charge of protecting places, going on patrols... I petty much have three divisions of the Hyrulean army (royal knights, knights, normal soldi...

I'm cool with a warless Hyrule and one castle, but maybe small villas or govenor's houses in the country side? Just to keep a presence and protect against moblin raids on the farmers.

... size of their armies. They began using human "mercenaries", like Renard and Ashei, as temporary soldiers and Knights. They would give them land and citizenship for a stint in the outposts or something, then let them go. If you want, the Gorons and the Zora may be "equal" members of the Hylian Plenum, a central government that keeps the peace. They are subordinate to the Roya...

You really need an IM so we can discuss these points... XD The way I figure, the outside countries (since it's been so long) have probably developed their own belief system. Also, they might be VERY far apart, and Hyrule a difficult nation to enter... reasoning could also say that perhaps these countries saw the creation myth as a lie to make Hyrule head over other countries or something...
  12. The Beguiling Bard » Stormsworder

Ok, well, no wars to control them is fine, but couldn't they control them philosophically? I mean, Hyrule is the center stage of creation, in the Royal Family's myth at least, and the old wars were fought there. The idea being one might enter Heaven/Sacred Realm and steal the Triforce. Now, without a war in ages, everyone's at ease. The Royal Family may have been cutting back on the...
  13. Stormsworder » The Beguiling Bard

Well, how I have the land set up is that the country of Hyrule has only one castle, with the ruler being Zelda. Other lands outside of the borders of Hyrule still have their own monarchies and such, but Hyrule has participated in no war to try and control them... There wouldn't be very many people from other lands within Hyrule, honestly.
And Saha, there is a pattern for most of ...

Others, like Renard, left the service to rule their lands, when Princess Zelda became monarch. Still others roam the country, landless and lordless, looking for work with whomever. Most of the Knights are killed off by now, but still other Knights are out there. You could also say the ways of the Knights were dying out. They were being replaced by bureaucrats. Just some thoughts for a back story.
  15. The Beguiling Bard » Stormsworder

I know you said the Knights were pretty much decimated, but would you make that loyal Knights? Pretty please? There are so many Knights out there, running their own realms within Hyrule, that not all would have been killed. Some Knights remain in their castles, ruling the land the Royal Family left to them with little supervision. [continued]

If you liked memento, you might like the Usual Suspects. The story's told in episodes, as well. You might also want to see Vertigo. It's dated, an Hitchrooster film, but it has a certain discombobulated approach to the story that's really nice.
  17. The Beguiling Bard » Sahaqiel

Ah, but there is no pattern to see. Patterns get old fast.
  18. Sahaqiel » The Beguiling Bard

I will keep this in mind.
Also, I have failed to see a pattern in the personalities of those you have added to your friend list.
  19. Ivo-goji » The Beguiling Bard

Do whatch ya' gotta do to bring in your character.
  20. Ivo-goji » The Beguiling Bard

Thanks then, but the only reason Ashei seemed like a good option was becuase she's the only character from Twilight Princess whose personality I have a good grasp of. The others either can't be used in the RP, or would be difficult for me to play as. Shad however is fairly well within my understanding, so it's all good. Besides, I don't want to claim every offical character.
  21. Chef Nonsense » The Beguiling Bard

How do you do, good sir?
  22. The Beguiling Bard » Stormsworder

Yeah, Barnes. That guy. The jittery fool and demolitions man, in one! College is catching up to me as well. On that note, I shall get back to you all later in the week.
  23. Stormsworder » The Beguiling Bard

Ah, hm... I'm not really sure. *scratches her head* I need to brainstorm on it a bit... but lately I've just been mostly busy with college and stuff. Hm... But yeah, you can have Barnes.
  24. The Beguiling Bard » Stormsworder

I'll keep Ashei then. Not a problem. I'm wondering if you'd be ok with giving me the Bomb Shop dude. Some cheap, comic relief would help this somber couple make sense of their world. If we aren't having a diversion of Knights, then an explosion will have to do. Any ideas? I know pumpkin's not active, but we need an insurgency plan.

It's a rediculous show of the tropes in anime. Disturbing is the perfect word. I'm sure it's on youtube :P
