They are essentially extinct aside from laboratory use and pets. They can regenerate their limbs and brain using their stem cells so they are useful for research.

Very cool. I'm trying to find a place to get them around here but no luck so far. You can order them online cheap but shipping costs like $65 because they have to ship it in a bunch of water.
