IGN shares the connectivity features that grace Band Hero for Wii & DS.

The clouds of another review season parted last week and a metaphorical ray of light shined down – it was Band Hero and it was packing Taylor Swift songs. If you're not familiar with this title, it's basically Guitar Hero 5 with Top 40 hits. Gone is the metal/rock vibe and in its place are songs by the All-American Rejects, Devo, and Styx.

DS Party Play: pick up instruments you want, drop in/out anytime, no-fail play, change difficulty on the fly

use your DS to connect to the Wii and sift through the playlist

create a setlist and send it to the Wii so the music never stops

hints/tips/trivia about the band are also displayed on DS

DS changes result in Wii on-screen pop-ups to let players know what you’ve done

Roadie Battle returns

use a DS during Mii Freestyle to change the stage lighting, camera angles and more

connect DS version of Band Hero to Wii version to download 50 exclusive Fan Request challenges

complete these challenges to unlock new items for your rockers, and also play as those DS rockers on the Wii
Activision is aiming its drum/microphone/guitar setup at folks like your girlfriend, your sister, and me; people who are intimidated by "real" music and love to belt out tracks by Pat Benatar and Evanescence.

How could they do this?! Guitar Hero-type things are about blasting out insane solos and relishing in the heavy-metal vibe, not LILY ALLEN. Seriously, Lily Allen is the worst thing that has ever happened to music.
