Wind Waker

Now, I've known for some time that at night, you can recognize constellations from our own sky in that of "The Wind Waker's". Does this mean that Hyrule is on Earth? Theories?

At least somewhere in the same universe not too far away from Earth.

But if it were anywhere else, the stars would look different because stars aren't on a flat plane, so when you move to a different position, the shapes become distorted.

Hyrule lies in a position in which stars form the common Earth constellations by pure chance, from stars other than those seen from Earth. That, or the stars are an easter egg. Geography alone disproves Hyrule=Earth.

Hyrule is a country, for one. Not a planet.

So, speaking of the planet that Hyrule lies on, in the sense that it were an actual planet in our universe, it could only be the planet that lies in the location in space that Earth sits. In other words, it's Earth.

But geographically, it's not the same Earth. So, it's an Earth in another dimension. At some point, that Earth underwent a geographical change that was different from our own Earth. Since any such change would also change the spread of people on the planet, that also explains the discrepancy in the planets' histories.

Of course, that's overly scientific, and frankly a bit silly. The real answer is that it's an Easter egg.

"planet on which Hyrule is a country" was implied.

Is every individual star the same one as Earth, or are there just common arrangements of stars? There is a distinct probability that an exact replica of Earth skies lies elsewhere in the universe, if not in our galaxy. There's no necessity for them to be the same place, as the only evidence for it is not concrete, and there is plenty of evidence against it.

But geographically, it's not the same Earth. So, it's an Earth in another dimension. At some point, that Earth underwent a geographical change that was different from our own Earth. Since any such change would also change the spread of people on the planet, that also explains the discrepancy in the planets' histories.

and physics is different, why? We have a historical account of Hyrule's creation by the Goddesses, therefore if Earth is the same place, Earth was also created by the Goddesses.

Of course, that's overly scientific, and frankly a bit silly. The real answer is that it's an Easter egg.

I agree.

It is a planet on the precise opposite side of the sun in perfectly synchronized orbit with the Earth.

And that is why we've never seen it =0. I saw that on a Non Sequitor cartoon once.

Suggestion:

Nintendo doesn't have any imagination.

How about nintendo fails at imagination. Wait-scratch that. The earth is a total rip off of hyrule.

I think that Hyrule is on Pluto....no one would expect other life on a place that is no longer a planet.....The Hylians are real I tell you, REAL

Um...........or Nintendo just decided to create an entire new universe which they've done in almost every one of their games. And which is the basis for almost every fantasy story line. That's why it's called fantasy. 'Cause it's NOT REAL. So yeah, of course they could put constellations in it. And heck, they could've even thrown Mario in as a playable character. Or made it possible to get a warpstar instead of a boat. Either way, just because the game has real constellations doesn't imply in any way, shape, or form that it takes place in the milky way.
