There is a diamond that was discovered to be larger than the Earth and to be 1-billion-trillion-trillion carats (34 zeros). Think of how much money that'd go for in a jewelry shop.

It takes a lot of heat to get diamonds to combust.

Just 'cause it has a thin layer of Hydrogen doesn't mean it's wont to explode.

Plus, it said it only had a thin layer of Hydrogen and Helium. There's no Oxygen for combustion. It'd just get really hot.

Though I think it'd be cool it see a flaming planetary diamond for a few weeks.

its only 50 light years away, too! which is cool considering how far away all those other things are people keep finding, they might actually get to this one before they get anywhere else. diamond companies would love to go here.

but then, with all those diamonds the price for diamonds would drop drastically. or maybe we would use them for fuel somehow.

you know, I've been thinking about evolution and all that. why did we choose to use oxygen and water as our life source? It doesn't seem to make sense. Theres so little oxygen on our planet, and its only renewable if there are trees. why didn't we go with something more like dirt? Which I guess is me asking why we dont have our own photosynthesis. Sure we'd probably use the same system of two life forms keeping each other alive, but theres more dirt on earth, and its less easy to destroy than air.

Oxygen is easier for the body to take in, being a gas, and dirt has a higher chance of having impurities or deadly microbes.

It would also be kind of difficult to take in and excrete.

Imagine trying to exhale dirt.

Or inhale, for that matter.
