A Poem and Semi-rant

Sounds like a high school crush I had on a japanese exchange student. It was pathetic. We talked in tutorial class every now and then, but I was awkward and shy. I probably misinterpreted the necklace he gave me for my birthday, or else I was more in love with the idea of being in love.

Anyways, I knew where he lived because he was staying with a friend of mine, so I left a rose at his doorstep around Christmas and sent him chocolates on V-day. Thing was, I think it freaked him out more than anything, and when I told him it was me and I asked him out he said no. It kind of hurt, but I had come to expect it.

Guess my point is that sometimes who you're attracted to has nothing to do with logic or even whether you know them. It's a little immature, yes, but not unusual. Chances are you'll grow out of it and into a different way of showing affection once you're actually in a relationship. Also, if you're into writing and reading poetry of that kind, look up poems on courtly love.
