Fighting Multiple Sclerosis

As I have been recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, I am participating in the local MS Walk in Oklahoma City. I am trying to raise money for research and the search for a cure. I would appreciate you, or your parents' TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation to the cause. All donations go the the National MS Society for research on treatments, a cure, and other relating programs. You or your parents donation to help find a cure means a lot to myself and others with this life-long, currently incurable disease that can happen to anyone. I used to think someone in your family had to have it. That's not true though. Anyone can get it. One day you to go to sleep, the next your vision is messed up or you can't walk. TAX DEDUCTIBLE! (your cashed check or credit card receipt qualifies as a valid receipt for this purpose) Thank you! If you'd like to read up more about MS, check out Wikipedia's page on it.

If you only have Paypal, you can send use the site donation page and put that it is for MS and I will transfer it to the MS fund raiser as soon as I get it. Just note in the donation that its for MS and provide the name you want me to use for the MS donation and you will be able to check it on the MS site.

I don't have a credit card of my own so it will be hard for me to donate, i'll ask my parents though. I read some stuff abou MS, and it said that scandinaviens and americans with sacandinavian ancestors has a higher chance of getting it...

Interestingly there is also a significantly higher chance of getting it if you live further away from the equater. There is correlation with the sun. It is known that Vitamin D which is made from skin's exposure to sunlight is an immune system modulator so there may be a link between Vitamin D, sun, and MS although it's not really known yet. There's also a correlation between MS and recently being ill with mono (kissing disease).... There is much to be learned about MS. Very interesting stuff though, although a bad thing.

I'm really sorry that that happened to you. I don't have a credit card, but maybe those of us on here who don't can find a way to do something beneficial.

I am very sorry to hear that, I hope that in a miracle you will heal. I am too young to donate right now and my parents wouldn't want to so all I can do right know is pray.

Hoping, Praying, and wishing the best to you, Dustin.

And if you go to the doctor and say it's gone or something be aware of....

Relapsing-remittingRelapsing-remitting describes the initial course of 85% to 90% of individuals with MS. This subtype is characterized by unpredictable attacks (relapses) followed by periods of months to years of relative quiet (remission) with no new signs of disease activity. Deficits suffered during the attacks may either resolve or may be permanent. When deficits always resolve between attacks, this is referred to as "benign" MS.

If you have an ATM, you could still try it in the CC box. I've done it before and it worked. They should also allow PP transactions... it'd allow more people to donate. OR, if you are willing to, make a donate link here and the person who receives it can donate it for you, ie, we use the PP button on this site that links to Dustin's account, and he'll put in the money on the site with the information that you want to have put up there, like name and comment, etc. Just an idea.

If you would like to Donate via Paypal, you can use the Site Donations Page. Just put that it is for MS and provide the name you would like listed in the donation box on the MS site for that donation. I'll get it transferred to the MS donation page as soon as I get it. For CC donations the MS site has to be used. Thank you so much guys for donating and all the kind words!

For those of you that can't donate at all, read up on MS and learn about it. Remember when you're older about people that wake up one day with a disease. Then if we still haven't cured it, you can donate then or maybe be a doctor or researcher or something to help cure it yourself! :)
