Its like a meter and with time it'll slowly decrease, but then nice poem you wrote and wha-bam! it goes up a bit. Starts decreasing again and sha-zop! extraordinary compliment about her and it goes up again. Begins to decline ka-whoop! first kiss and the meter flies up. You get the idea.
