People actually fry ham...? :fear: That's got to be your entire day's fat intake right there!

umm correct me if I'm wrong but even if you don't fry the ham you still eat the same amount of fat... unless you remove it.

We actually have both. My siblings and I LOVE ham, but my mom can't eat it, so we always have both for Thanksgiving.

Frying foods always adds extra fat. It'd be healthier to bake the ham.

That is incorrect! Only when cooked improperly does any fried ham or Turkey absorb any of the abundant fat that it is cooked in.

When something is fried the water molecules are rapidly heated and leave the ham, not allowing any oil to be taken in. However when it is overcooked it has no more water to protect it from the oil. Also when it is cooked perfectly it must be allowed to drip dry. If it sits on a mountain of paper towels while it is cooling the water is no longer being heated (no longer pushing out) and then it will adsorb excess oil.

I'll tell you what I have for Thanksgiving...
A good laugh. Because in Australia we only ever waste time celebrating days where people get presents. Which makes 3 days a year; Christmas, birthdays, and Easter. Presents, presents, chocolate. Is good, eh?

Turkey is horrible.
Ham is only good when it's sliced REEEEEEEAAAAAAALl thin, and is smoked. Not like, smoked like a joint, I mean smoked like the guts of someone who hangs around people who smoke.
