Weird coincidence. You guys remember this Berlioz gentleman who used to regularly post on our forum?
Well, turns out he's still been working on the majora's mask project, as well as apparently doing this Undertale Papyrus's theme remix I stumbled across just now!
I liked what I heard, then realized I recognized the uploader's screen name. This guy has gotten pretty good at putting music together, I must say. I'm sad that I forgot about his musical, I'm gonna go look over what he's published so far and see how far along he is.

We should really push this opera thing, since you've so graciously chosen to post on our currently small-time forum.
    Probably front page news pushing.

    Haha! Thanks!

I'm in Portugal, though, and definitive "operations" won't happen until after certain things are made clear. I'm recording these vocal samples because I want minimally decent material to show Operation Moonfall. As a solid fan-base who has already communicated with Nintendo, they can be a powerful way of assimilating support over this, and strengthen the proposition for Nintendo.

There is a wide scope of possible reactions, from a totally destructive one to a helpful one, and the hundreds of possibilities inbetween, so until then I cannot be 100% sure of how, where and how this will be executed, although I have a handful of possibilities already planned or at least sketched out.

Regardless of any outcome, I will finish the opera, as I promised I would. That's what's completely up to me

    Merry Christmas, people!

I come to show signs of activity and inform you that I have completed the first half-hour of the opera, and that you should expect samples with actual vocals somewhere in January.

For now, I give you instrumental samples from several parts of the still unfinished Act I.

Keep in mind that they're mostly just orchestrations of original themes because the real development usually happens with the singers (which is usually where I cut between the themes here, because there is no actual voice sound but a digital instrument emulating it, and we all know how those suck).

The only thing mildly "developed" in this sample is the superimposition of a modified Kafei and Anju's marriage theme (will be used as the leitmotif for their hope) on the Astral Observatory theme, along with some quotes from the Song of Healing (leitmotif for promisekeeping and obviously the Happy Mask Salesman).

By the way, for those who enjoyed my website's music, I only recently noticed my media players in the site's Works section were all down. I've put in new ones and there's much more music to listen to in that section than the 9 sample tracks on the home page.

On November 28, 2011, Miguel Bulteau (known as Berlioz around here) posted a topic about an opera he wanted to begin work on. To our surprise, the opera was to be based on a popular Zelda game, Majora's Mask. Most of the community was cautiously optimistic, as this was an ambitious project for anyone to undertake.

He wanted to change things up. Instead of having the opera revolve around the hero of Hyrule, Link, the opera would revolve around Kafei and Anju, two lovers from the game. In fact, Bulteau planned to remove Link from the picture entirely. This, of course, was met with criticism from our community, though not in a negative fashion. Bulteau was very open, honest, and patient with our questions and concerns, and he assured us that the opera would not work with a silent protagonist.

Having read what he had to say in response to my concerns, I believe him.

Ever since his first post, Bulteau has been diligently devising orchestrations and instrumentals for the opera. According to his website, composition is his passion, and his passion shines through everything he shows us. On our site, we've never had anyone produce such a monumental project and stick with it. The fact that Miguel is so dedicated is refreshing.

I look forward to the future work you put into this project, Berlioz. This has the chance to become something great, because it can provide non-gamers a window into the dark, mature themes of Majora's Mask. Keep up the good work! Give us a shout if you need any help, and God bless.

Hello there, I have been meaning to join since a while ago, but just until today I gave myself the time to create my account and introduce myself properly. Man, your post count are intimidating it is hard to find people with less than a thousand posts. I know, close bonds here, eh?

So... I was finding quite amusing the ZD talk thread. It sounds as it wasn't the same place the acronym but then I read someone said "dungeon" so, I guess it is the same thing, many things can change in a few years, hahah.

Either way, I joined because I miss being in touch with some old pals and well I was hoping that if I could recognize here a username I would be able to see a few more familiar faces. Old Zelda communities I used to follow have died and some users still meeting in other places. Of course I am also open and eager to start new friendships.

I don't post as often, but I might still babble long in threads. I hope I can adapt and get accepted in your community.
    Thank you.
