I don't understand why you're not explicitly mentioning the fact that the satellite has the pictures of people who've helped him/he met on his journey to becoming an astronaut. It is really one of the best pieces of fanart for anything that I can think of, besides a couple ones for other things (assuming it is fanart and not a cover for one of the manga volumes, which I wouldn't doubt but that didn't occur to me until now).

I went and found the artist's tag on some imageboard-like site (possibly NSFW, I haven't looked through every page - kind of yaoi-ish though some of it)

Apart from those Space Bros ones, I saw some JoJo in there too.

People said I looked 20 when I was 13. Maybe Shaq is physically precocious too, or suffers from accelerated aging, or maybe he hides his baby-face behind some kind of hairstyle that involves a wall of bangs. But these are all far-fetched theories. The world may never know.

I'm currently watching Kill la Kill, Watamote, Gundam Build Fighters, and Gundam ZZ. Been loving  Kill la Kill so far. The animation is perfectly fitting, the humor's spot-on, and I love the references to other anime to death. When Mako made the sign of the Ide from Space Runaway Ideon I was sold on her.

Don't worry, Estrada, I'm also kinda new here and can't think of meaningful contributions to post most of the time. My ability to lurk is spectacular.

  13. Agent Zako liked a post in a topic by Teto in Game Of Thrones[SPOILERS]: The "Not the Books" Thread WITH HUGE SPOILERS

I like to think that the whole series is leading up to, or in fact already is, a face-off between the servants of Winter and Summer, R'hllor and the Other, Ice and Fire. It would then make sense that the book series is called A Song of Ice and Fire, and it being suggested that the book series is that song. More time goes on in the series, the more real the gods seem. Originally, with a name like Game of Thrones, it felt like medieval politics, and I would forget that it was a fantasy series, and so it was always strangely surprising when fantasy elements are real and seem to have power. Legends and magic, often talked off as children's stories by the characters in the series, are asserting themselves more and more, and it's not really realism and politics like it first seemed.

I've just started on Book 5 Part 2 by the way.

Glad to see people enjoying the books and the show here. I'm caught up both on books and the series. Guess I might as well list my favorite characters too, although this list is likely to be different every time I think of it because of the sheer amount of good characters:

    1. Jamie
    2. Sandor Clegane
    3. Brienne
    4. Jon Snow
    5. Barristan Selmy

Season 4 might be my most anticipated season so far. Considering the events from Storm of Swords that season 3 didn't get to, season 4 will likely be nothing but one intense, jaw-dropping paradigm shift after the other.

Yo, forum people. I've already posted a couple of times but suppose I might as well make this formal. I don't have a ton of experience with forum communities, so I might not be very quick to post at first.

As for my Zelda experience, I don't have a lot. I've played through Twilight Princess and all but the last dungeon of Majora's Mask. I definitely want to play more eventually.

  18. Sahaqiel liked a post in a topic by Agent Zako in Pacific Rim [SPOILERIFIC]
I absolutely adored Pacific Rim. It was gorgeously shot so the action was clear and easy to understand what was happening. The acting, while often scenery-chewing, was generally good to alright. The plot was easy to follow. And the Jaeger's felt believably huge and powerful. But most importantly it is the first successful attempt at a big-budget, live-action Giant Robot movie in the Japanese style.

It also doesn't hurt that Mecha is my favorite genre of anime and Pacific Rim was filled with nods and winks to famous Mecha anime and Kaiju movies. Sahaqiel is pretty on the money about the Eva references, and the rocket elbow was definitely a nod to Mazinger, but there was even more to the influences than that. The pilot helmets of the Russians look significantly like the head of a Scopedog from Armored Trooper Votoms. Del Toro has said the Japanese Jeager that Stacker piloted had a design influenced by the Guncannon from Mobile Suit Gundam and that Cherno Alpha was partially inspired by the Zaku, also of Gundam fame.

It was a big, dumb action movie, but, excluding Evangelion and Gunbuster, most popular robot anime about fighting giant monsters are big, dumb, explosive, silly stories too. I'm actually glad Pacific Rim didn't try to be too thoughtful or deep and was just a fun time. If I have complaints it's that the humor was pretty hit-or-miss and the characterization was thin. Even so, it's definitely my favorite movie of the year so far, even if I would never argue it was the best.

I ran into some PR cosplayers at Fan Expo this past weekend.

There was also this great Newton cosplayer who made like the whole Kaiju-brain-connecting headgear and wore it with cables connected to a Kaiju brain in a jar they made. They were so great. ;A; I didn't snag a photo though because they were in line for Perlman and my hands were too full so I couldn't get my camera out.

I also met Ron Perlman, and bought some PR prints.

You got a pretty good tutorial going here, Sahaqiel. I'm not terribly familiar with Animal Crossing or Runescape, but, being an arts (and not really crafts) guy myself, I still see how cool the process is. Even if they suck at the moment, the mistakes with these kinds of projects tend to end up being as valuable as the successes. I can't wait to see the final product
