  1. to be fair, I have no idea how anything related with CERN with prove or disprove the existance of God...

Belief in god is all faith, so people are always going to disagree, it would just be nice if people respected each others views.

  2. I'm level 87 teabagging.

    And 76 lovemaking.

damn, the fake images I made are on the other computer...

Also, minus the severe amount of flaming, lemo makes the best point...

  3. Yeah.

Roflrofl, Smile is so unfair. =(

Also, shadowknight, he's just trying to anger you.

He stated its ease as a fact.

    Sahaqiel

I almost got both together yesterday, if I hadn't died stupidly on the 7th level and failed on the very last level, otherwise I actually had the smiley face

it also meant I'd died too much and did't quite complete it to get game over :(

  4. Considering it's just you two talking, you could keep it to private chat, or considering you both seem to know each other, real chat.

Also, I only just realised this is the wrong section...

  5. I'm an American and I have to say, that's definitely not true. You know, most rumors/stereotypes about us are made by people who envy Americans due to us having good money and military (I'm not saying other countries don't).

    economylol?

sorry, that was uncalled for :(

Lucky you changed it before Zuzu did his/ her rounds.

    I hate Zuzu so much!

And you can't warn me for having an opinion.

What is there not to like?

  6. Like I said, the 360 just doesn't pique my interests. I don't find the incentive in buying a console that breathes harder than someone congested to hell, and breaks down more often than Britney Spears.

had mine for a year, no problems, they don't break down THAT often

  7. Of course I know that. But it's still technically a PS3 exclusive since it's only for 360 in North America, and its localization doesn't begin until after the Japanese version is released.

And besides, Versus XIII is the one I really want. If you check out the Internet consensus, Versus and Agito are more wanted than XIII, and they're still Sony exclusives.

it's for 360 in Europe too, it's only a PS3 exclusive in Japan.

The main thing I'd want a PS3 for would be Little Big Planet, possibly Metal Gear Solid. LBP was great fun to play, but it would take a lot for me to decide to buy a PS3 (and would probabbly sell the wii or 360 as a result, most likely 360 although as it's used more at the moment, the wii gives the variety)

  8. I've done some heavy editing to fix the grammer, opinions stated as fact (there is a god), should be left out of news posts (It's an opinion, neither saying there is or isn't a god is a fact).

  9. Rick Rolls don't work if you do them to people who've seen it before (read: EVERYONE), the reason it was invented was for a "wtf" moment.

    On the other hand...

http://twitpic.com/696j - Check out this awesome Rick Astley music video

  10. Actually I wonder what the media would say (Or worse yet Oprah :o) to a nearly pornographic video game website! Now I know it sounds crazy but look at some of the titles on threads even out of the wild west! And then you'll see how this idea fits!!!

    Worst Of All!

I've seen several FILTHY pictures in signatures and Lord knows what I'll find if I look around enough!!!

Not to mention all curse words are 100% allowed!

This site is doomed to Hell!

Actually, If I've seen the f or c words (the bad one, not the one used in the simpsons), I censor them and the user gets a warning, because they shouldn't be using them.

Actually, I don't think I've seen the c word on here...maybe Wild West, but that's a different matter

  11. 360. It has Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, I dont' know the real name of it that's what I see it called on the internet, and Banjo Kazoie. :)

Umm...that was one of the worst sonic games ever...

Wait for Sonic Unleashed (which is coming out on the wii too). I played it at Leipzig and it's looking pretty awesome.

    @Joshizzle

FF XIII isn't a selling point for PS3 alone now you know...

  12. Real Time strategy games have never worked as well on consoles. Ordering around a series of troops with a joypad is much harder than doing the same with a mouse and keyboard. The wii may stand a chance of producing the odd good real time strategy as at least you get a pointer, but it's not yet been done. The fact of the matter is mouse > console controller.

However, End War takes a different approach. The whole game can be controlled purely by voice commands. Now you may be thinking this is some sort of gimmick that will be dodgy and won't work very well. I was on the game for maybe 15-20 minutes and, despite the large amount of background noise at the convention, it only missed one voice command, which it then followed up, recognising my complaint that it missed it (it was quite a funny moment). The smoothness and speed that you can reel off commands seems to bring up another point. The microphone works better than a mouse and keyboard, at least in the context of the game.

In End War, you only have up to 12 groups of units, although this may seem a bit boring, it keeps all of the action focused into a small area, which means it doesn't get too confusing. Each unit is given a number and to "select" that unit, you merely say "unit 3", well, if you want to select unit 3. You then tell it what to do, i.e. "attack" and then what you want it to do that to i.e. "hostile 5". "unit 3 attack hostile 5" can be reeled off much faster than selecting the unit then clicking on the unit to attack would be with a mouse. Each individual base is all given a phoenetic name, i.e. alpha, sierra, delta, therefore it's difficult for it to mistake the wrong thing.

As far as units go, it's fairly basic rock paper scissors stuff. Transports are the only thing with anti-air guns, so are very strong against gunships, gunships are good against most other things, tanks are good against most things, but they get torn to shreds by gunships, artillery have a huge range, but can be hurt badly by most units. Only infantry can secure bases etc. The aim is to secure more than half of the bases on the map, the bases also have other benefits in that they allow you to build more units and get other upgrades, like airstrikes.

Once one side has half the bases, you hit defcon 1. If one side keeps hold of the bases for 5 minutes, they win. However, the thing about defcon 1 is that it allows the side currently losing to use a weapon of mass destruction. In their presentation, they said this was based off mario kart, where when you're in second, you almost always get a red shell (no blue shell references here, you have to be in 5th or worse to get one of those), which could turn the tide of the game, depending on how it's used and how the leader reacts.

A minor point about end war, but one that makes it quite interesting. It's a Tom Clancy game, so it's based off the book with the same name. The general story is that it takes places in 2020, during what's known as the "end war". There are 3 factions, Russia, America and Europe and on your online mode, you choose a faction and contribute to the global online war. Ubisoft have said it's their most ambitious online mode yet, so it's definately one to look out for.

This game is one that I probabbly wouldn't have thought twice about before, but having gone hands on with it. It definately looks like one that I will almost definately be buying. I will hopefully be doing a preview for it on release, first week of November.

Feel free to ask any questions and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

  13. Leipzig Games Convention, it was in the description of the thread and I've mentioned it on the front page. There should be a couple more game previews from there soon.

Also, pressing the certain buttons is a quicktime event, they've been on quite a lot of games before during cut-scenes and missing them means having to redo the cutscene and the like. Unleashed does it quite well, because failing to do so will not mean death, you're not punished for failing to do them normally, however if you suceed, you're given secret alternative and faster routes and the like.

  14. Sonic hasn't exactly had a great time in game since the move to 3d, with the quality of games generally declining and it not being quite the same anymore. Sega seem to have recognised this in some respects and in the original trailers for Sonic Unleashed, all of the gameplay was from a side on point of view, taking it more back to the old Sonic games.

This is half true for the main levels (what happens with the whole crazy werewolf mechanic which could well mess everything up, is anybody's geuss), the other half is a behind view, much more like Sonic and the Secret Rings as opposed to the sonic adventure games, you control left and right but all the time you're encouraged to keep going forwards, as opposed to stopping and having to find things in order to continue.

You can keep going forwards at a tremendous rate too, as can be expected from a sonic game, you can build up tremendous speed and with a brief spell with the controls (jump and homing attack are now different buttons, which threw me for a bit) you can keep plowing through at great speed. For me, the whole of the level lasted just 4 minutes, but the person playing before me, who was unable to keep things flowing as smoothly took twice as long. Being able to flow through the levels this quickly gives a good sense of achievement, but you need to keep your wits about you to keep going. Things are kept simple with the controls, A for jump, X for a homing attack and B for the odd somersault

As for the level design, the main scenery that has been shown in the trailer is of a beach-side town, blue sky and lots of white buildings. This was technically the only level on offer. However, I managed to select one of the other levels (there were actually 3 to choose from) and was able to get half-way through before being told by a Sega rep I wasn't supposed to be on that level. The level in question took a completely different style, with oriental type structures all over the place and a general dragony theme. It's good to see that there will be this variation as seeing just one type of level all the time can be a bit worrying and repetitive. There are still plenty of the usual hazards to watch for throughout, avoiding spike pits and the like, although it looks like Sega have gotten rid of most of the "running running running hole *dead*" surprises, that could get annoying in the older 3d games.

All in all, this could be a return to form for sonic, or another let-down. A lot could rest on what they do with the whole werewolf thing, as there are still no details on that and Sega have a habit of adding unnecessary things that turn out a bit rubbish. As for the demo I was able to play, everything plays very smoothly, was very shiny and good fun to play, just like a game should be. I hope to do a full review when the game is released

Feel free to ask any questions you have about the game and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

  15. That can only mean one thing!

Captain Falcon and Samus are the same entity! :o

    What a revelation!

Well, they are both bountry hunters...
