  1. I think a 1st person Zelda could work if done right. I'm not completely against it so long as it's done right.

I've played Dragon Quest Swords for Wii and the combat/boss battles in that game had some pretty cool concepts to them; I think I have that game to thank for getting me familiar with different angles of strikes/slashes to use depending on what an enemy sends your way in Skyward Sword.

C'mon Retro, don't let us down now!

  2. Found this article while browsing Gamespot.com earlier; check it out:

    http://www.gamespot....%3Bheadline%3B2

Retro Studios (in case you didn't know) is the team that brought us the Metroid Prime Trilogy and the recent Donkey Kong Country Returns. Personally I enjoyed the Prime trilogy and DKCR was enjoyable and had it's rough moments (in terms of difficulty) so it's safe to safe Retro knows it's stuff. But to see them tackle such a widely acclaimed and well-loved franchise like Zelda...? Well, this is gonna be interesting. But hey, on the bright side, they can't futz it up as bad as Phillips did with the CDi, right? ......right? :o_o:

    What do you guys think?

  3. I learned a lesson today: don't trust EBGames when they give a release date. I go to an EBGames to see if they have a finalized price for a Skyward Sword+MotionPlus bundle or anything like it (apparently nothing of the sort has been thought of/announced yet... why? dunno. odd.); and the guy at the counter gives me a release date of November 1st. Are these stores even allowed to do this kinda stuff before the developer/company itself confirms the release date? I'm hoping someday that stops because really... all it does is raise unneeded questions and concerns and wastes valuable time on the phone getting the facts straight. I went to places like Gamefaqs/Gamespot/IGN and they all say the same thing... TBA 2011.

Personally as long as it comes out this year I'll be happy (which I've heard rumored that it will), but I'd appreciate it if video game stores would quit giving people the runaround and spreading false information. If they're doing crap like that to get customer's pre-orders easier, that's just dirty and underhanded.

Anyway, as for the game itself... wow. I didn't know up until now that they added a running feature for Link. I love it! And a vertical spin slash? Cool! It's like they took the Head Splitter (jumping-spinslash) from Twilight Princess and beasted it out. The more I hear about this game, the more excited I get. Release day won't come soon enough! :P

  4. Yeah I got stuck on that stupid sand statue bit at first too... chuggin around the tracks shootin bombs at everything I can see like a madman till I finally notice HEY, outside in the Sand Realm looks an awful lot like the area of the Sand Sanctuary... maybe I should start droppin bombs in there too... :P

    *Crap, didn't mean to double-post  *

  5. Last floor of the Tower was hard I'll admit to that. The thing I hated the most in the game though was the smaller demon train's AI. They'd switch directions at the worst possible times :( You'll see what I mean once you clear the last floor of the Tower of Spirits...

Other than that, sweet game :)

  6. District 69 (District 9)

    Fcuk Hard (Die Hard)

    I, Swallow (I, Robot)

    Hanc0ck (*snicker*)

    Pineapple Sexpress (Pineapple Express)

    Superbone (Superbad)

    American Creampie (American Pie)

    Load Drip (Road Trip)

    Blowgirls (Showgirls :D)

    Stripplease (Striptease)

    Hairy Cooter (Harry Potter)

Who's Fcuking Roger Rabbit's Wife? (Who Framed Roger Rabbit)

I could go on, but I'll stop. For now.

  7. If you guys are into the old-school SNES style Final Fantasies (4-6), you should check out Final Fantasy IV - The After Years. A true sequel. Available on Wiiware; starts out with one chapter but you buy additional chapters with Wii Points to continue the story; and eventually you can band all your characters from each scenario/campaign together to make a dream team for the final encounter. It has it's interesting share of bonus dungeons with randomized chests in some places and familiar bosses from past FFs, and another great feature is the lunar cycle engine; there's 4 different cycles and each can impact your weapon attacks, your white/black magic efficiency and how little/much dmg thrown weaponry does. Enemies are also effected by the lunar cycles too.

Also to note is that certain characters have combo attacks they can pull off with other characters. Think Chrono Trigger. As long as both parties have sufficient MP, the "Band" attack will work. And from what I've seen so far (I'm only on Kain's scenario); there's gonna be a puppyton of dual techs/bands to find (there's some for all 5 party members at once)

Check it out if you're bored and looking for a lengthy classic RPG to play :)

  8. Here's hopin we finally have some closure on this whole biased-ness fiasco... I don't know how many more threads I could bear to read with Sahaqiel and YLA word-dueling over biasedness :P

But it seems he's seen the light, so...

    Halleluiah!!!

  9. YLA; keep this in mind when you browse the Internet; NOT EVERYTHING IS SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS WHEREVER YOU BROWSE.

You'll have decent people, you'll have poo disturbers, you'll have overly-negatives-and-never-positives, you'll have people that are so friendly they make you wanna puke, etc, etc. It's just Internet people, people you don't know on a personal level and it really shouldn't matter what the puppy they do or say about you.

To some people, poking about bagstraps and biasedness is entertainment. It sucks when it's done at your own expense but the best thing to do is suck it up, ha ha ha a bit, move on. Speak up if it gets to be too much, and if it doesn't let up, then take a break. Or find some other means to solve the problem without digging yourself a hole to fall in.

Long story short; don't take the Internet seriously. You'll never get out alive.

  10. Legend of Zelda (NES), Adventures of Link (NES), Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time. That's the order I played, beat and enjoyed that got me heavily involved in the series.

  11. I was refering to the 2003 TMNT show. That murderus alien actually died. The movie continutiy ended. And she never said he was alive. And Ganon's dying words were :"The wind. It is blowing." The wind was a sign of death to the gerudo people. Someone on Legends Alliance mentioned that TWW was a game about moving on. Ganon realized that his time was over and a new era began.

Actually, if you've watched the "Turtles Forever" mini-movie that debuted on TV a month or so back, he's not dead. Ch'rell (the Utrom Shredder) was actually exiled to a freezing cold asteroid after his most latest defeat. By the end of the "movie" though Ch'rell is reduced to nothing by a blast from Technodrome 2.0

Sure Karai never mentions in the movie continuity that the "foe from their past" is Shredder or that he's alive for that matter; but c'mon... who else could Karai be talking about that would get Raphael so spooked as he sounded? Who else would the Turtles care about that's connected to Karai? It sure as hell ain't Tatsu; that coward turned tail and booked as soon as he saw Tokka and Rahzar were out of the picture.

Anyway, back to the Ganondorf bit: The part about the wind being a harbinger of death to the Gerudo sounds like a pretty good clue. But then again, with the Hero of Winds stirring up the winds of the Great Sea at will, it could've been any old wind that Ganny felt; I thought it was only the warm winds of the desert kickin up sand and other crap was their cue that the poo was about to hit the fan horribly...?

  12. The level of detail on that Zelda/Link stained-glass window tattoo is awesome.

I had a weird thought of tattoos after seeing that... I wonder if anyone ever thought of tattooing the Triforce on the back of their hand? Heh.

  13. Is it the XBox itself that the video's all messed for, or could it possibly be a short in the wiring of your audio/video cable? If you're still getting sound though, I doubt it's the system itself...
