It is 3:30 in the morning. Meand my grandmother are watching my uncles dogs. One of them, my bet is the one with the addiction to barbituates took a giant, wet, green shit on the carpet. Never again.

It just makes me mad that there was never justice. But I guess the kennedy curse was Karma?

im so excited for the new Planet of the Apes movie. Im such a fan of the franchise! Ive seen all 5 of the original movies, and im downloading the first TV series too. Time travel stories are jux so fun! A lot of people hate on Tim Burton's 2001 remake due to the ending, but from what i understand, its pretty close to the original novel. And, of course, I loved Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the 2011 reboot with James Franco, even if this new series seems to get rid of all time traveling elements. So yeah, pretty excited for this new movie.

Nooo he's not my boyfriend lol. Well, yet. Yeah, I know I shouldn't have "hyped" it up so much. I guess I couldn't contain myself.

It's actually worth the read.

And I am back with new and newish pieces. First, a Godzilla picture I started and might never get around to finishing. I made it in a couple hours the afternoon before I went to see the new movie, which rocked by the way. Vine and compressed charcoal on watercolor paper.

 
And now two of my figure drawing from the "Life Drawing" class I took this spring semester. Made these both near the end of the semester as I was continuing to experiment with different media and styles. I found I was most comfortable with charcoal and, having recently read a ton of manga as well as western comics, I wanted to try something more line-based. Also, preemptive apologies for the blurry scans.

I guess that's to be expected.

What's most interesting about Darkseid, I think, is the scope of the things he does, and his eloquence in doing it. I think he has a current origin story written in the new 52, but it doesn't matter. New origin stuff for fourth world characters never sticks.
Gonna post some examples of good darkseid stuff. Theres also the DC animated Darkseid. Also very good.






Okay, so, an important aspect to understand about the New Gods is that they are sort of like memetic entities. They change over time according to their natures. So in the first picture, which is from original Kirby New Gods, Darkseid is an intergalactic despot, who seeks to find the anti life equation. In one comic he says he does this so that he can remake the universe and his image, and look upon it so he might finally know fear.
 
Then in the next on he succeeds. He gets the anti life equation, and is in the process of expanding his rule from earth. But he's a bit different from there. At some point he has taken on the nature of his name, he isn't just a Demon that rules apokalips, he is a god of evil.
 
Thanos and Darkseid are both very interesting, but for mostly different reasons. Thanos has comparatively simple desires, and a comparatively simple origin. Thanos was born and events transpired that made him into Thanos the Mad Titan
 
Darkseid is. His motivations are as meaningless as the motivation of a hurricane that wipes out a city, or a comet that crashes into a planet.

yeah but you cant have gaybies anymore. Honestly, it may sound petty, but after hearing that i lost a lot of interest in it. Maybe a sequel will be my thing.

I feel like "whacky" or "zany" things have to be careful with their consistency. If something is trying to be whacky all the time then I think it's easy to get burnt out on it.

I also watched videos on it and I feel like I've seen all it has to offer.

I beat 3 first (Kind of regretted it though since there is sort of an overarching story) and I still enjoyed 1 and 2, and did another playthrough of 3 after I beat those. None of the games are really ugly, Mother 1 obviously has the worst graphics out of the 3 but its still not too bad. I don't think you would find Earthbound ugly at all honestly, any graphic changes from Earthbound to Mother 3 is nowhere near as big a jump as the ones from Mother 1 to Earthbound. Earthbound has a lot of the same things I love about Mother 3, Mother 3 just has the strongest story out of the 3.

Oh I finished prime 1 btw. I started echoes a couple weeks ago. Summer classes are ending next week so things are busy for me but when that happens, I can VIDYAAA

Here's some WIP's from the past few days of the same subject. I want this horizontal bullpup drum rifle to work, but for the life of me I can't get it to happen. I'm gonna have to put this down for a while and come back to it later. I'll be doing sniper rifles tomorrow.
