Totally just got back

So, I think I told most of you I would be off for the weekend because I was at this thing in Aberdeen, racing electric cars we made (I say racing, it was really an endurance test). Anyway, that's not the point. I just got back today and I would like to announce the events!

Anyway, I got up early Saturday morning and skipped breakfast to have a shower and check out my camera, which just arrived. So I messed about until 1pm and skipped lunch in exchange for getting into town on time, and for getting all my stuff together for the 6 hour trip down to Aberdeen.

Got to the mini-bus and put some music on. My playlist was:

Coldplay:

"A Rush of Blood to the Head", "Brothers & Sisters", "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face", "Green Eyes", "Life In Technicolor", "Lost!", "Lovers In Japan", "The Scientist", and "Viva La Vida".

Muse:

"Bliss", "Feeling Good", "Shrinking Universe", "Starlight", "Supermassive Black Hole", "Take A Bow", "Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist", and "Time Is Running Out".

K-ON!:

"Cagayake!", and "Never Say 'Lazy'"

Lily Allen:

"The Fear"

So I listsened to that for 6 hours. "The Fear" I listened to for about an hour on a loop as we neared Aberdeen though.

So that was the trip. We got the the Travel Lodge and I was one of the three who had to share a room whereas others had two to a room instead. So I got my stuff dropped off and I went for dinner, as I hadn't had anything to eat since 24 hours prior to arriving there. Pizza Hut was supposedly just around the corner, so me and Beth, somebody from my team, walked a mile down the road looking for it, before deciding that this probably wasn't 'just around the corner'. We went to check the other direction from the lodge, and found nothing. So we were like "Fuck this." and went to the restaurant instead. I had a baguette with bacon and brie.

Brie is disgusting. It was a foot long baguette and I ate it all. Beth just sat there laughing all the time though.

Anyway, we were then told to get an early night, as it was about 10pm when I finished that god-forsaken thing. In my room, me and Andrew, one of the other guys in the room, sat being talked at by a fat ginger person called Alex with a horribly annoying accent and terribly boring subjects. Every now and then, however, Andrew would entertain us with stories of his antics while drunk, most recently being the shaving off of his eyebrows, and while smoking cannabis, which he said not to tell anybody about. He offered us some Cider he smuggled in, but I turned it down, as did Alex.

Nice guy.

Anyway, that was the first day.

Aaaaand. The second.

Okay, so I got up early, because Alex decided to get up and wake us at 6am. We waited until 8am until we had to get going for breakfast. Alex had Sunflower Seeds followed by a full English breakfast and Coke (Cola). I had cornflakes and apple juice.

Then it was time to set off for the 'race', which I was not looking forward too since the last time I drove anything was 4/5 years ago when I overturned a quad bike. I got out of driving though I was that scared. We got there and got the car on the track. We kept a good second for the most part and I just kept time for 4 hours. It was all fun though, watching as we eventually took the lead, beating the fastest car's speed with out slightly lesser speed and far greater reliability, never having to pull out the car even once, aside from battery and driver changes.

We came first out of the 30-something cars entered from Scotland. We got medals, which I don't think I deserve, having chickened out despite being the second fastest on the track thanks to my weight. We stood posing for about 10 minutes, which was a bitch as my feet were killing me.

So that was that, and we packed up and set off for home. On the way the person next to me, who drove in the fastest car, reminded me that the top three go to the final, which he didn't apply to thanks to two breakdowns on the track. We were first, so we won the trip all expenses paid.

The final is in London in October and it's going to be on a 2 mile track, which I'll have to drive on to avoid the crushing guilt.

Needless to say, I was shattered, and slept for half the trip, even though I was probably one of the least active there. Scary thing is, I was that out of it, I almost fell asleep on the shoulder of the guy next to me, which could have been incriminating to say the least, even though it was kind of what I felt like doing anyway.

I listened to Muse exclusively on the way back up this time and actually socialised too!

So that was my eventfull weekend, and it's good to be back at home.

Don't mind me while I think over exactly what I had to eat/drink.

Ate:

Bacon and Brie Baguette, Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, M n' Ms.

Drank:

Orange flavour Tripicana *3, Mango and Orange flavour Tropicana *2, Apple Juice

Anyways, ya.
