My guess is that the post count below your avatar doesn't count posts in the forum games section, and the one in your profile does.

The post count on your profile shows Active posts, it sounds it adds up all of the posts you have ever made that are still active. And by active all posts you've ever made. The one next to posts is probably however many posts you have excluding the forums which don't raise your post count.
