Zelda Sequel Apparently Confirmed For 2010

Nintendo CEO opens up about upcoming plans.


[b]US, January 6, 2010 -[/b] You are now less than 365 days away from a new console Zelda game. Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata confirmed to Japan's Asahi Shimbun daily today that the Wii Zelda sequel, first revealed at last year's E3, will be released this year.

Iwata was pretty open for this particular interview. He also revealed that Nintendo will be announcing Vitality Sensor games in July, with an aim to release product as soon as possible (not very specific, for sure, but better than nothing!)

DS also got some mention. Actually, make that DS 2! Iwata told the paper that a successor to the DS would require high resolution visuals and sensors for detecting player motions.

He wouldn't share a time frame for the successor's release, though, instead pointing to the DS's success in 2009. According to Iwata, 2009 was DS's best year ever in North America.

Vitality Sensor + Motion Plus + Nunchuk + Wiimote = Ultimate Zelda Wii Play IRL feeling!.

Though, I doubt Vitality Sensor is getting used for those games, may only for Wii Fit kind of games, counting your Heart bounce stuff.

That would be cool, the vitality sensor could detect if you were finding a place too easy it could make things harder, that would be awesome!!!

Supposedly, they've been working on it since before Twilight Princess even came out. And up until last month, they hadn't even decided on the graphics. Now it's almost ready for a release? Something's very sketchy about this...

Screw everything else, Zelda Wii releasing this year is the best thing I've heard on this site in awhile. A unveiling @ E3 this year, and a release planned for this year? I'm gonna take a guess and say it's gonna be available around fall or beginning of winter/ in time for Christmas season, kinda like with Twilight Princess.
