This last week our friends over at LegendofZelda.com ran the second annual Lozzie Awards, a series of awards that are given to Zelda Fansites for either long or short term achievements.

Last year Hyrule.net won "The Socialite" an award that marked our forum community the most appealing. This year we have been given "The Catalog" an award that praises the navigation we have here at Hyrule.net.

More information after the jump!

------

"'Hyrule.net has a lot of things going for them. First of all their design, though simple, is very attractive, and for years now, they have been one of the leading sites in terms of interactivity within the Zelda community. Yet, one attribute of Hyrule.net that sometimes gets over looked is the site’s navigation. Hyrule.net focuses on fan activities and therefore they put int a lot of effort to make sure that their fans can find everything as needed. Their layout is one of the most navigable sites in the community because they choose to keep things simple and easy. Perhaps the most notable example is their new formatting. The default option is set to display All News, but they went with a tabbed approach which allows users to easily switch between Zelda news, site news, and etc. Though a very basic concept, it is the little things like this that makes visiting Hyrule.net a great experience for its users.' – Noah Glaser of Legend Zelda

Last year, Hyrule.net was the winner of our 'Socialite' award, and this year they have justly received a different award. The Catalog is one of our new awards, and it is awarded to the site with the best navigation, meaning that it is easy and logical to navigate through the winning site.

Hyrule.net's layout is simple, sleek, and plain. It does not try to hide information or overcategorize things. Everything is laid out logically: Overarching categories such as Forums, Games, and Guides are all at the top, news categories are tabbed, and they have a login box to make everything connected. However, their sidebar is where they really take the cake.

The first heading on their sidebar is 'Most Popular' rather than 'Main' or something else. This immediately tells the visitor that everything in that tab is popular, meaning it is likely to be something they want to look at. The visitor immediately is drawn to those pages and knows ahead of time that those pages are the most worth their time.

The rest of the sidebar is also clearly labeled and logical. It is pretty large, and contains a lot of great things to look at. It gives the impression that the site isn’t heavily tiered, so that it’s easy to go from section to section without having to climb through several layers of sub-pages. These features are what make Hyrule.net such an easy to navigate site for all Zelda fans.

In the end, their site is by far the most easily navigable site in the Zelda Community. There are other sites with great navigational designs, but none rises to the standard set by Hyrule.net. Congratulations to them on their second Lozzie!"

Edit----

I'd also like to congratulate to the following sites for also winning a Lozzie:

But yeah all of us who were here a year ago deserve that socialite award.
