Math....oh my God math....I used to really hate math, but now I love it.

I used to see

x^2+5x+6

----------

2x^2+24x-12

as something that pissed me off. now I see it as

(X+2)(X+3)

----------

(2x-1)(x+12)

Math is starting to make more sense to me now, and I'm all like, Lol Wut?

Congrats.

I'm sure a lot of people would pay for your ability to comprehend these topics.

It's surprisingly easy if your teacher isn't a total idiot in the teaching process. I wish now that I could go back to my High School math teachers and show them EVERYTHING they're teaching their students wrong.

I know what you mean. I had a great math teacher in grade 11, and I was really sad when she went on maternity leave because, while he was bad, the sub didn't have her flair for making complex things easy to understand.

As for going back to high school teachers, I'd probably go back to punch my grade 12 English teacher in the face. Scratch that, I'd punch my grade 9 English teacher, whose grammar I had to correct, who made us read this godawful maudlin cowboy book, and who accused me of plagiarism.

Hmm...well, that blows, I hate it when you have to teach your teacher the subject they're trying to teach.

Ummm

The second one is wronge

2x^2+24x-12=/=(2x-1)(x+12)

Proof: 2x(-12) = -24

-1,-2,-3,-4,6,8,12,24

-24,-12,-8,-6,4,3,2,1 (all multiples of -24)

-1+24=23

1-24=-23

-2+12=10

2-12=-10

-3+8=5

3-8=-5

-4+6=2

4-6=-2

(none of its multiples when added up equals 24)

Actual Answer: Not Possible

But the first one is correct

For these types of problems you do so you can convert it into a (x+?)(x+?) format because the places with the ?'s are the multiples that when added together equal the middle number in a ax+bx+c format

It's just qradratic formulas

-Facepalm- shit, I meant minus 24x...sorry, typo on my part.

I knew that, but there are ways around everything in math.

Maths is kinda fun I guess, I'm not bad at it but I'm not amazing. My brain started a small fire when you put those numbers, cuz I don't like them cross-multiplication-or-whatever-things.

Then my school did this:

And I lost significant amounts of respect for anyone in those vids.

Sure, it took balls to do that, but errrggg... It's just the jocks. And most of the jocks in my school are assholes. And most of my school is made up of jocks. And all the kids in that vid were assholes. There were 2 teachers in that vid, one was my teacher last year.

He was really immensely awkward.
