Sony's Customer Appreciation Program

Immense thanks to Double45 for bringing this to my attention.

NOTICE: THIS ISN'T CURRENTLY GOING ON. They're probably going to start it within the next few days or so? The games will be available for only 30 days, so be quick.

For all of you that have endured(if you even play on your PS3 anymore, anyway) the hardship that was the PSN going offline for over two weeks or maybe three, you can now rejoice that it is back online. But, Sony is doing something special, bribing us all with games. And that's awesome.

They're allowing PS3 users the choice of 2 games from a list of five: Dead Nation, inFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD, and Wipeout HD + Fury.

*Europe has Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty in place of Super Stardust HD.*

They're also allowing the choice of 2 PSP games, which include LittleBigPlanet (PSP), ModNation Racers, Pursuit Force, and Killzone Liberation.

Besides that, though, everything else is p. useless:

  • A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.
  • 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.
  • Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
  • Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
  • Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
  • To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

But, yeah, totally getting LittleBigPlanet, inFamous, Modnation Racers, and Killzone. Discuss.

Also, once again, thank you, Double.

I'll choose inFAMOUS and Dead Nation for ps3. Modnation and maybe Killzone for psp, because i've never heard of Pursuit Force. Also normally sony makes you pay to use Modnation Racers psp online for $5 and they dont state that that the online is included here, so be warned.

I only heard about PSN going down today. Why in the world would Sony keep it's information in plain .txt files without so much as encrypting it?
