It's like that.

This Saturday, we'll be watching the first season of Studio SHAFT's Sayonara Zetsubō-Sensei (Goodbye, Mr. Despair), a popular and comedically written anime based around social satire. It sports a large cast of characters in a school setting, and makes many jabs at culture, business, and society's rules in general. It's very quirky and stylistic.

Things to look out for:

• The opening animation changes each episode; typically in a more twisted fashion, especially in later seasons.
  
• There are a lot of background text jokes, which may be difficult to read and perceive while everything else is going on.
  
• Sometimes (though rarely) there are jokes relating exclusively to Japanese culture, so if you don't get it, don't worry.
  

This time around, we'll actually be inserting segments of Cat Soup throughout each episode. Amongst the confusion of last month's anime viewing, it sort of slipped our minds.
