Probably because they're neat. Also "literal" is a horrible word to use for those videos. They're live action, not "literal".

Except they're not live action but actually CGI. I was really impressed too, that they blended the line between the two so well.

They had a live action series before the first Ezio one came out, and I'm pretty sure the character models in game were based on the actors. I thought they had a movie planned but I guess nothing happened with that.

I think it's "literal" because the narrator is explaining what is literally happening on screen.
