  1. The identity of the Kree corpse discovered to be the source of Coulson's resurrection in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has been revealed.

This is Mar-Vell (Captain Marvel) advanced envoy of the Kreevoid Science Navy. Mar-Vell was sent to Earth to investigate the progress of the Terragenesis program but was killed in an as yet unidentified incident.

  2. One of my favorite Anime was Yu Yu Hakusho. I really liked it and think a modern HD remake or continuation would do quite well.

  3. One of the most memorable things about The Godfather was Vito's cat. However there is no mention of a cat in the script, one day while on set Marlon Brando found a stray cat and adopted him. The cat he named Vito after the character lived with him until it died several years later.

  4. The Title of the post Civil War Spider-Man solo film has apparently leaked and it is....

    spiderman_new%2Bavenger.jpg

The story details will follow the backlash of Spider-Man's joining the team, a cause headed by Jonah Jameson who bashes the Team for allowing the "Menace" to join them. A similar thing happened when Spider-Man finally joined the team in the comics.

  5. So apparently Reed Richards can warp the space around his body so that he appears to be contorting into impossible shapes. I like this a lot more than him just being stretchy.

Is that canonical or from the new Fant4stic movie?

  6. It's time once again to delve into the Marvel Multiverse and explore another reality

Today is Earth 982, The MC2 universe.

Imagine a world roughly eighteen years ahead in the 616 timeline and there you have the MC2 universe. In this reality things are quite different. Peter Parker has retired from costumed adventuring after losing an arm in battle. In the interim he and Mary Jane had a daughter they named May after his Aunt. Peter now works forensics for the NYPD and dotes on his daughter and wife.  One day while at school May's latent mutant abilities activate and she freaks out. Later Peter and MJ come clean and tell May that her Father was once Spider-Man, a fact that blows the kids mind. Donning a spare suit and cybernetic arm built by Reed Richards Peter takes May, also in costume to test her abilities. Like her father she has the proportional strength of a Spider, can climb walls and sense danger. Unlike Peter she has organic webshooters (a trait of the Mutant X-Gene) and climbing walls is more difficult. May eventually meets a boy named Normie Osborn (the son of Harry) and they fall in love, he later becomes a heroic version of Green Goblin.

The MC2 UNiverse was obliterated when Peter Parker made a deal with Mephesto to undo Aunt May's death in the aftermath of Civil War. However Uatu the Watcher saved it in a Pocket Dimension too.

The reality could possibly merge with the 616 universe in the upcoming secret wars story. A sneak peak of a post war Spider-Man cover showed Peter with Mary Jane and a little red headed child that could possibly be the lost May.

In addition to spider-Girl there are future versions of the Avengers (A-Next) and the Fantastic Four (Fantastic Five)

  7. I was on Google+ skimming the posts in my feed and I came across a post called "Prayers for Nepal" and saw people were commenting on it saying things like "Yes" and "Amen" and being a snarky Athiest I posted this...

Nepalese: Help us, we need food and potable water!

Religious Ideologue: I'll pray for you

Nepalese: If you don't want to help then don't! I need food and water not meaningless platitudes!

Then I though what CAN we do to help?

As I type this the Red Cross is mobilizing a relief effort and if you want to donate it's easy as pie. Just text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to the disaster relief I did and so can you.

  8. The new Joker is a 2003 Marilyn Manson ripoff. It just looks douchey and lame. We haven't seen Jared Leto in action. I personally think he's gonna do great, I just don't like the picture that was released. If they just got rid of the "damaged" forehead tattoo, it'd look better. Maybe if it was more subtle or something. Not against tattoos in general, I just severely dislike that one. The gold teeth are lame kinda. I'm like 60%/40% on them. I am against 60%. I just think these ones specifically (especially the bottom) are bad.

They have so many interpretations to choose from. I don't know why they'd copy of Marilyn Manson. Why not just like, hire Marilyn Manson if you're gonna rip him off. It'd still be lame, but at least you couldn't say that it's a clone.

Also the white suit has a purple collar and looks dumb. I kept hearing Frank Miller's work used to describe this Joker, but I don't think it was true after all. I like a serious, yet sassy Joker who is narcissistic to a fault. Director David Ayer said he'd be "majestic" so I got my hopes up for a DCAU and Frank Miller Joker, not some grimdark Eurotrash goth club thing :(

The Tattoos are a bit much for me. But I'll reserve judgment until I see footage.

  9. Stan Lee in the photo.

I previously mentioned the replacements of Captain America in a previous post. I thought that I'd just touch on that a bit further with the next obscure Avenger who became his own costumed Hero.

    John Walker aka U.S. Agent.

Captain America embodies all the qualities that makes America great but unfortunately America has kind of fallen from grace after World War 2. The New American ideals gave rise to Cap's antithesis "Super Patriot". This Hero saw the world in clearly defined Black and White and acted as a super powered right wing nutjob (picture a Fox News viewer with super powers). His "Heroic Activities" brought him into conflict with Captain America and the Avengers and he was defeated.

John retired from costumed heroics and decided to travel the world and actually experience other cultures and ways of life instead of making snap judgments. Years later when Steve Rogers retired as Captain America and assumed the guise of Nomad a more worldly and transformed Walker assumed the abandoned mantle of Captain America. He held it for a while until Rogers returned and that was when Walker became the U.S. Agent.

As U.S. Agent Walker became a reserve member of the team and aids them when needed.

I personally really like this character and identity with him and his story. This is a fact that I don't like to talk about but I was incredibly close minded and (I wouldn't go so far as Racist) but distrustful of non whites. My Grandfather and my Father are very Bigoted and unfortunately that rubbed off on me. It wasn't until Junior High that I started seeing the cancer of racism and how subjecting kids to it should be considered Child Abuse.

  10. I just watched a few episodes of Netflix's Daredevil series. Episode two has an insane single take fight sequence that went damn near flawlessly and it was really impressive to watch.

    Other things of note:

    - Mr. Daredevil is a very handsome man

    - Yellow and red

Keep an eye (and ear) out for Marvel Easter eggs they are in every episode.

There's even a subversive Stan Lee cameo

    Daredevil-Netflix-Easter-Egg-Stan-Lee-Ca

Who's that in that photo over the shoulder.

  11. Today's obscure Avenger is Jennifer Walters The Savage She-Hulk.

Jennifer is the cousin of Bruce Banner. A shy a timid girl Jen was the daughter of William and Elaine Walters. William was a Los Angeles County Sheriff who was killed along with his wife in a car accident orchestrated by crime boss Nicholas Trask. Trask then came after Jenn shooting and seriously wounding her. Hearing of the shooting Banner went to see her and discovered that due to Jennifer's rare blood type they didn't have blood on hand for her. Knowing that they had the same type Bruce offered up his own blood for a transfusion while hoping that the Gamma radiation would have no effect. When nothing happened Bruce thought Jen was in the clear, until the gangsters hit the hospital to finish her off, Jen's anger caused her to transform into a Hulk and defeat them.

However due to a fluke Jen's personality remained dominant and left her unable to return to her human self. Despite her green physique Jen went on to lead a sort of normal life. She graduated from Columbia law school and became an attorney specializing in Super Hero Litigation, she was defended a number of Costumed crime fighters in lawsuits. But that hasn't stopped her from suiting up and helping out when the need calls for it.

And though she has yet to appear in the MCU actor Mark Ruffalo has expressed interest in seeing his "Cousin" join him in a Hulk solo film.

  12. It has literally just been announced that Sony is planning to bring Spider-Man to the big screen in an animated feature. They have tapped Phil Lord and Christopher Miller the writing duo behind the Jump Street and Lego Movie franchises. This in no way will impact Spidey's inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or his live action solo film.

  13. pheo, please help, i tried to send a message (pronounced like the back rub thingie), but your box is full. idk how this imposter account happened, but please ban it quickly. this issue of trolls from zelda dungeon can only escalate should this be allowed to continue

Somehow I got the message meant for Pheo, I think.

Oh yes, Digimon. I remember that one. I used to watch it all the time!

Ah, I miss my toddler days sometimes.

I don't care what you say Imposter, I liked Digimon as a teen and still do today.

  14. Today's lesser known Avengers the best there is at what he does, and what he does isn't very nice.

    The Wolverine

    Real name: James Howlett

James was born in Cold Lake, Alberta Canada in the late 1800's. He was a sickly and frail child until his mutation kicked in. Aside from a healing factor James has heightened senses and sharp bone claws that protrude from between his knuckles on his hands. His healing makes him practically immortal and as such he ages much slower than normal. He fought during quite a few wars in his life and even met Captain America during World War 2 when he was known as "Lucky Jim" Howlett. Subjected to the Weapon X project James had the indestructible metal Adamantium grafted to his Skelton. After the procedure James became an Amnesiac and began living life under the assumed name Logan.

Years later Wolverine joined the mutant superhero team The X-Men and later when he came into contact with a defrosted Captain America, Rogers recognized him as Lucky Jim Howlett however due to the Anemia told Rogers he was mistaken.

Wolverine is currently a member of the X-Men and a reserve member of the Avengers.

Wolverine originally appeared in The Incredible Hulk #181 as a member of Department K tasked with hunting down the Hulk. Before they decided on making him a mutant his original origin was that he was an actual Wolverine (the animal) who was transformed into a human by Herbert Edgar Wyndham, the villain High Evolutionary and his claws were merely built into his gloves. Thankfully he was instead made a Human mutate instead.

  15. For today's Obscure Avenger we will look at....

    Captain America

"But wait!" You say, "Caps easily one of the Most Iconic Avengers, how can he be obscure?"

Well pipe down a bit and I will tell you.

In 1963 Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were planning on The Avengers then during one planning session "The Man" and "The King" began to muse about their youth. Stan (who was a Young copyboy at Timely Comics, Marvel's predecessor) liked the concept of Captain America and how it boosted morale during the War so they began to entertain the concept of having Cap join the team, but how to accomplish this?

They tossed around ideas ranging from Time Travel to Captain America's Son until finally settling on the current canon.

"In the closing days of World War 2 the Allies get intelligence of a secret Nazi Wunderwaffe and go investigate. They discover an Atomic bomb that is programmed to hit Washington so Cap jumps on the Bomb and rides it then after deactivating it crashes into the Icy waters of the North Atlantic where he is preserved in ice and eventually thawed"

Simple right? Well you're WRONG you stupid, stupid reader! You see before Avengers there was already established canon of Captain America and Bucky post World War 2, so through the Magic of Retcon Marvel created a couple of heirs to the mantle of Captain America.

William Nasland was himself a costumed hero calling himself "The Spirit of '76" he was asked by President Harry s. Truman to step into the role of Captain America.

Jeffrey Mace became Captain America after Nasland died on a Mission

A college professor named William Burnside took the identity of Steve Rogers (even going so far as to have reconstructive surgery to look like him) to combat a "Commie version of the Red Skull" (oh the glorious 60's!). He even subjected himself to the Rebirth project, however the formula was a flawed Nazi copy that neglected Vita-Ray treatment. Burnside became increasingly Paranoid and unable to treat him they were forced to put him in Cryogenic suspension.

So there you go, just a small sample of the "Men who would be Cap" there are many more so go out there and see for yourself.

  16. I'm not all that familiar with Classes in RPG's however I used to play as a Monk in D&D. Before I quit my character Galvin became a Waywalker.

  17. One of my favorite movies may soon be a tv series. It was announced that cult hit Galaxy Quest is getting the TV series treatment.

For those unfamiliar Galaxy Quest was a wacky comedy that centered on a washed up actor named Jason Nesmith (Tim Allen) whose only real claim to fame is his character Chuck Taggart on a 80's Sci-fi series called Galaxy Quest. Nesmith meets a couple of people thinking that they are fans but in reality are humanoid extra terrestrials who transport him to an exact replica of the ship from Galaxy Quest (The NSEA Protector). The aliens who had no culture of their own modelled their society on that of the characters of the show (they intercepted the signal broadcast into space thinking it was real). Nesmith returns to Earth and recruits his former co-stars to save the Aliens from their enemy.

If you've never seen it I highly recommend it. I own it on DVD (the original release) and Blu-Ray (Special Edition) plus digital on Amazon Instant Video.

  18. It looks like the doors of Nelson & Murdock will remain open. Today Netflix announced the renewal of there newest smash hit original series Daredevil.

In other Marvel tv news The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D spin off series has revealed two castings. Actress Adrianne Palicki and Actor Nick Blood will headline the A's yet entitled series. The pair can be currently seen playing the MCU versions of Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird and Lance Hunter.

    huntlanc4.jpgmockingbird-comics.jpeg

Rumors continue to swirl of a possible Avenger cameo in S.H.I.E.L.D to coincide with the release of Age of Ultron, with Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye being the most likely suspect. In the Comics Clint Barton and Bobbi Morse were lovers for a while.

  19. One of my favorite aspects of The Marvel Universe is the Multiverse. All of the main continuity occurs on one specific reality (Earth-616) but there are many more.

Each week I will highlight one such parallel reality in a segment called "Marvel's Mighty Multiverse"

Today we'll take a look at Earth-311 The home of Marvel 1602

    Marvel_1602_Vol_1_1.jpg

The story begins with a version of Captain America (from Earth-460) being sent back in time by President Zebediah Kilgrave (who used his mind control abilities to win election) to 1587. Once in the past Rogers takes the name Rojhas and masquerades as a Native American. Rogers incursion causes the heroic age to jumpstart hundreds of years early. Mutants (dubbed Witchbreed) begin popping up and become targets of Witch Trials at the hands of the inquisitors (who is this realities version of Magneto, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch) and a group of sailors aboard the ship Fantastik are exposed to a strange mist and become altered. The Universe is erased when Rogers is sent back to his own time, or would've been if not for the intervention of Uatu the Watcher who saved it in a pocket reality.

  20. Great book. Will Wheaton read the audiobook

Yeah I know I have the Hardcover, eBook and Audio book (on my Kindle so I can read along). John Scalzi signed my hardcover at a signing.
