  1. I just wanted to get an idea of how far people are on TP. If you will just use this format:

    11\26\06

    Final Boss Battle

Please try not to use MAJOR spoilers, as some people come to the site and read forums when they don't have the game yet (why?!). Maybe just say how many dungeons you are through or something.

  2. Multiple disks is a given; Tales of Symphonia can be beat in about 35 hours even though they say it is 80 hours long, and it has 2 discs. Zelda is going to be huge. The Wii version will probably all fit on one dual layer DVD (about 8.3 gig), but you have to realize that GC disks can only hold slightly more than 1 gig. From what I've seen of the game, judging by huge invronments, VERY detailed graphics for a GC graphics engine, and the fact that the developers and Nintendo execs all say this is going to be a very long game, it wouldn't surprise me if this ran to THREE GC disks.

As for disc switching, tales of symphonia and the psx FF games all had everything but plot specifics on every disk. On disk four of FF 9, for example, you could still go to all the places you could on disk one; you just couldn't go backwards in the storyline (why would you want to anyway?) It wouldn't surprise me at all if that is the tatic Nintendo uses on TP. In fact, if I find out after switching to disc 2 that I CAN'T go back, I'm going to be VERY ANGRY. But that won't be the case. If the Wii version is one continual game, then they will make the GC version with the same idea, just with a disc switch about halfway through.

    Sorry about the huge post.

  3. The picture is kinda small, but that is my Sept. wishlist calander, and, as you can see, IGN has the GC version of TP coming out on Sept. 30.

Keep in mind that IGN put the Wii release later in the calander, on Nov. 1. We all assumed the GC and Wii versions would come out at the same time, but...

I wanted the Wii version, but if the GC version comes out first...

  4. Yeah, what is Fierce Diety Link? Like, wheredoes he fit in with Zelda? He cool, but you would think there would be some kind of explanation of what he was wouldn't you?

    Just wondering what everyone thought.

  5. The problem is, I read an article by someone who played it at E3, and , though I'm still getting the Wii version he said he was a little disappointed.

He used the fishing game to illustrate this. According to this guy, you do go through the motions of casting, yes, but the line still follows a scripted route, no different than if you had just mashed a button. He says casting harder or softer has no affect on the route. It also does the same thing with bobber mode. You can shake it right or left, but it follows a scriped route.

If the whole game is like that then the GC version may actually end up being the better one.

P.S. In the E3 demo he said there is no way to control the camera...
