  1. To be fair, not really, I was 20, I consider that my freshman year because I went to a Community College first and absolutely nothing transferred.

  2. And that is why I didn't have room mates after freshman year.

It's great to have friends to hang out with, it's better when you get to go home without them.

Then again, I may be slightly antisocial at times.

  3. Haven't picked out a song yet, but pertaining to log in, I have a USB stick in my safe, on it is all the log ins to every forum I am on, as well as all the passwords to computers, ipads, harddrive encryption, bank log ins, all that stuff.  It's always good to keep a copy of that stuff for a shit hits the fan situation as it is, just make sure it's safe.

And now, I'm thinking Standing Outside the Fire by Garth Brooks, I always did enjoy that one.

  4. I don't, with school and work full time, I want to get several series completed and upload them on a schedule to be at least semi consistent. I'll probably start uploading a minecraft , Zelda, and battlefield series within the next month.

  6. Cirt, it sounds like you did the right thing there.

I'll tell you when my ex and I broke up, I went into a pretty bad place, and did exactly what he did, I failed some classes, got kicked out for a semester and didn't go back, I lied to my family and current GF about being in school.  It wasn't until mny GF confronted me about everything that I got my shit back together and got back to work.  Sometimes we just need that kick in the ass to get things done, it's good of you to be amiable during all this, you sure didn't have to be.

Just sort out your own things, focus on you for a while. and things work out, believe me, I've been there.

  7. I could see this working really well for the series if done right.  The common complaint I've seen among consumers is that people are kind of tired of the same old same Zelda mechanics.  While I think that part of what Zelda is IS those mechanics, have a more non linear, sandbox rpg type game would be kinda cool in my opinion.

I think there would still be the main quest type story, but I would be curious to see what Nintendo could pull off as far as a truly engaging hyrule that really pulls the player in and gives them real investment in the future beyond collect these things to defeat the dark lord Ganon, again.

  9. There was some law passed quite a while ago that says they dont have to read miranda rights immediately if there is still a danger to the public. I imagine they wanted to ask him if there was anyone else involved, other bombs that hadn't gone off yet, etc. You could definitely argue that its streching the law but in this case I'd say it was warranted.

Contrary to popular belief, police don't have to read you your rights when arrested, They only have to read you your rights if they are directly questioning you about a crime. They haven't done that with the second brother yet, at least not officially. You would be surprised at how much you can be asked without Miranda rights being read.

  10. Well, if we are doing 28 days later style....

My house is suburban , outside of huge population density. I also have two weeks of water/food on hand, should I need it, along with guns and ammo including pistols, shotguns and rifles.

My exterior doors are all steel with reinforced frames, or reinforced shatterproof glass (which I would bar and board anyway). All windows are laminate and shatterproof. As such, I would barricade myself in the house and use my skylights as roof access to pick off zombies as they came if need be. After my food supplies run out, I can scavenge out of neighbors houses if need be, as I think they would be relatively useless in tis situation. Water I can filter and purify using a charcoal filter an iodine tablets (you don't want to drink without a disinfectant, it may be in the water sources).

I would like to think I would survive, but the only way to be sure for anyone is to have immunity to the virus/parasite/bacteria, whatever the cause is.

  11. Well that's only a 40-45 minute drive for me, I'll stop by one or two of the days, Hell, if timing is right, I may have room in my house for people.

  12. I think it's pretty well moved onto incredibly painful things from shooting kneecaps, to allen wrench in the eye, to a work that will literally eat through your live body.

  13. Can't be done reliably, on the move, under a high stress situation. Not viable for a self defense shooting.

Let me put it this way, think about a police shooting you have heard of, where a gunman was shot by multiple officers. SOP for officer training is to shoot till the threat stops, or you need to reload. Let's assume there are, for this situation, there are 4 cops, all carrying a glock 22. That gun has a fifteen round capacity, plus one in the chamber. 4 times sixteen is 64 rounds. That suspect will be shot, on average, about 14 times, out of 64 chances. That is a trained officer. Do you really think you are going to hit a kneecap?

  14. Put one bullet into the abdomen, you have time to get to a hospital fairly easily, put one in the chest, not quite so long, but you have a shot.

Put a bullet into the femoral artery, you're done just as much as putting one in the heart or slitting a throat. The idea of killing instantly and without pain only happens if you destroy the CNS.

Guess which shot you are more likely to make? Keep in mind, if you miss, there are likely innocents behind where you are shooting.

  15. I'm just saying is that if faced with a life or death situation, and I have a gun in my hand, I would rather shoot them in the leg than in the face. Sure, they could still bleed to death if they didn't get medical attention, but that was what I meant by "nonlethal".

Like, remember in Terminator 2 when John Connors told his terminator not to kill people, and so he starts shooting people in the legs instead? THAT IS WHAT I MEANT

How much training do you have?

A leg is a very narrow target, let's say about seven inches across, that is moving. And if you hit about three of those inches, they are dead in about three minutes.

There is a reason professional law enforcement trains to hit center of mass, I.E. chest and abdomen. It's a much larger target. Throw in that amped up attackers have been known to take 9-10+ shots and keep coming, shooting in the leg is not reliable and incredibly hard.

  16. Okay, this is a big pet peeve of mine. There is absolutely no such thing as shooting somebody in a nonlethal way. You do not fire a gun unless you are prepared to kill somebody with it.

    This.

Not to mention, in a self defense situation, first thing that goes is fine motor skills, you will do what you are trained to do, in the case of firearms, that is either hit center of mass or miss horribly.

That being said, yes, I would, no question. (Glock 23, or sig 224 for me, depends on the day)
