I think it's part of the hystory of the game. It's like with Super Mario, it's the same history again and again but the puzzles are different.

If there's no ganon, there's no triforce of power so there's no triforce at all... end there's no need to Link becoming a hero

Ganon and Ganondorf are the same person by the way, and they really don't know which is which after a while, but Ganon is the pig form and Ganondorf is the human (or whatever he is) form.

The triforce doesn't depend on Ganon being there, but I think the series does. It does so far anyway. A new villian would be nice, but Vaati was the newest villian added and he's pretty cool. You then have Veran and Onox (I think that's his name) and I guess you would count Majora, even tho he was a hero in the game. lol. So, even though Ganon has appeared in almost all of the games, he is probably an intrical part of there timeline and won't be taken out anytime soon.

My point was that the games couldn't be that good if in every game you have a different bad guy. The triforce of Power could of couse change... just, choose someone else instead of Ganondorf but the nwe all be talking about why is always Princess Zelda and Link the ones that hold the other Triforce parts... so eventually the game would degenerate... and we wouldn't be here posting at all, the games couldn't be so good.

Notice that in wind waker there is no excuse what so ever for ganon to come back afterwards:

1) the master sword is stuck in his head

2) he has been turned to stone

3) He has lost the triforce of power

This means that there's about a 99% chance that in phantom hourglass there'll be a new villain, including something to do with an hourglass that could be in some way phantomous (haunted)
