Posted 6 Mar 2010 I just got yelled at for taking a walk the other day, and then apparently lying about it O.o I'm 17 years old, and I get in trouble for walking to the park? only one year left, I can't wait.
Posted 6 Mar 2010 Wait what. Walking? What time though? Did you get a proper reason? Or was it just 'for walking'? I hate when people think it's weird to walk though. I remember when I was walking and a friend offered me a lift. I told them I was just walking for the sake of walking and they didn't really get it.

Posted 6 Mar 2010 Pointless walks are the best. It's a pity so few people take them anymore.
Posted 6 Mar 2010 Sorry to hear that, Min. I like pointless walks, too. olololololol But Min, why would you get yelled at for a walk? Are you not supposed to leave the house alone or something?
Posted 6 Mar 2010 My parents get angry if I don't tell them where I'm going. But I don't even know, sometimes. But then again, fair enough. The gangs around these suburbs are getting serious now.

Posted 6 Mar 2010 It wasn't like it was late at night or anything. it was about 4:30PM. I just thought it was a nice day, and the park is about 10 minutes away. But I got yelled at for it, It makes no sense. and it's not that I live in a bad area, it's a small town, not like someone is going to try to kidnap me if that was my father's concern if it that were the case, I have a brown belt, I can defend myself
Posted 6 Mar 2010 My Mom was like that about me going places without telling her. As long as she knew where I was it was all good. It may seem paranoid when you're in your late teens and such, but the parental instincts are still there. Not that I don't think they should start letting you do your own thing at this point. Up until pretty recently, kids were considered full-grown adults before the age of, say 15. I think the reason for the stereotype of teenage rebellion is that a lot of people are ready to leave the house by then but aren't allowed.
