No, the animals died, so he got p. sad, then they came back and were like, "Don't be sad, little boy! S'all good." then left.

It was a nice part at the end.

The little boy seems to live in a place without many other small children to befriend, so it can only be assumed the animals were his only friends.

But they died, despite him taking care of them.
