I liked Avenged sevenfold when I was a freshmen. I liked them because I liked beast and the harlot. I liked beast and the harlot because I heard it on guitar hero 2.

I am no longer a fan of avenged sevenfold, but I do know they're not bad, though the only two albums I had by them were City of Evil and their self titled avenged sevenfold.

How will you decide what album to listen to?! O:

Also wow this is a nice list of some great bands. I love Sacred Reich, Candlemass, etc.

Also, another suggestion. Guilt Machine. One album, six tracks, all are so amazing and deep.

I used to listen to a bunch of metal, but then I realized that only fat chicks listen to metal. So I stopped, for the most part.

Metal is lame.

Ministry - A Mind Is A Terrible Thing to Taste

Sun O))) - Black One

Isn't Sunn just drone.

Or was it just that one song I listened to whatever it was.

Also this is my favourite one I've found so far.

probably because it wasn't as metal as most metal.

Anaal Nathrakh was pretty cool too.

kinda crazy.

Also Dream Theater

So, I was just reading a cracked.com article about movie star's who's lives off the screen are way more badass than on. Apparently Christopher lee, the same actor who played in lord of the rings as sarumon or however you spell it, has had a pretty puppying dramatic life, if you read the article. But the point is, apparently at the ripe age of 87 he's produced his own metal album, called "Charlemagne: By the Sword and Cross." So if you want to listen to this 87 year old sing about the life of the first king of Rome, then you should listen to it. I have decided to listen to it just because He's christopher lee, and after reading the article I would be an asshole not to.

I agree that Christopher Lee is puppying badass. He's been knighted, he's a direct descendant of Charlemagne's, he recommends headbanging as exercise, and he's met J.R.R. Tolkien. Tip of the iceberg, there.

Tristania's also good, at least for their earlier stuff (heard they're less metal now, but haven't listened to their new stuff yet). "Beyond the Veil" is pretty cool.

Immortal is amazing, especially their album "Sons of Northern Darkness".

Also, needs more Finntroll. Polka metal FTW. Bunch of Finns singing in Swedish about trolls.
