So like, there are signs around town saying that May 21st is the Judgement day when Jesus comes back. Something about numbers and math and it all adds up to May 21st. Personally, I think this is total bullshit, as even Jesus said that nobody puppying knows.

Matthew 24:36-44 (New International Version, ©2011)

The Day and Hour Unknown

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

So yea, I was just wondering if anybody else heard about this May 21st bull shit.

This was too long for me to read, but i skimmed through it. It'll give you an idea of what I'm talking about--

Scare tactics? Idk. I know I'm already saved, but I don't exactly dedicate my life to Christ even though I wouldn't turn my back on him. But things like this make me kinda scared and make me want to beg and all, but what does that mean? Am I just begging because I'm scared that I'll go to hell? My salvation isn't just about not going to hell. I know I don't want to go there, but still.

And the fear is only there for a few seconds, then I realize again that if the world were to be ending right now I know that I wouldn't have anything to be afraid of.

5 - 21 - 2011

21 - 5 - 2011

21 - 11?

5?

OK, so, uh.

21 + 11 = 33

The leftover 20 is divided by the 5

so 4...

Wait, let's start over.

21 - 20 = 1

1 + 11 = 12...

Alright, nevermind, new strategy. (2/3 being Satan)

5x - 11y - 2011z = 2/3 // System of equations

22x - 5y - 2011z = 2/3

2011x - 5y - 11z = 2/3

25x - 55y - 2011z = 10/3 // Multiply for variable elimination

242x - 55y - 22121z = 22/3

(25x - 55y - 2011z = 10/3) // Solving for x

-(242x - 55y - 22121z = 22/3)

-217x - 20110z = -12/3

-217x = -12/3 + 20110z

x = -12/3 + 20110z

________-217

_(10055x - 22121y - 4044121z = 4022/3) // Solving for y

-(10055x - 25y - 55z = 2/3)

_-222069y - 4044066z = 4020/3

-222069y = 4020/3 + 4044066z

y = (1340 + 4044066z)/-222069

5[(-12/3 + 20110z)/-217] - 11y - 2011z = 2/3

(-20 + 100550z)/-217 - 11y - 2011z = 2/3

(-20 + 100550z)/-217 - (1340 + 44484726z)/-222069 - 2011z = 2/3 // Solving for the value of z

(4441380 - 22329037950z) - (-290870 - 9653185542z) - 2011z = 2/3 // Getting rid of the denominators

4732250 - 12675852408z - 2011z = 2/3

4732250 - 12675854419z = 2/3

-12675854419z = -4732248/3

-12675854419z = -1577416

z = 19995095574201304

y = -364127753889007338.54524494639054

x = -1853001714272756790.0276497695853

I don't think I'm going to bother checking that.

I guess z having 1999 in the first part is a bit eerie, but eh.

Maybe I did my math wrong.

The way I see it, there are so many religions, there's really no way to tell which one is right about anything.

Popularity doesn't really matter.

Twilight's popular, but it's not the best book.

So I'm not going to trust any Christian predictions, 'cause I'm hipster.

I think this is kinda a constant thing. It's not like "Oh, I'm already saved"

I'm not trying to be a perfect Christian or a devout or anything.

It's probably a good thing to try to be perfect. It's just a bad thing to pretend to be perfect. Big difference.

One of the great quotes from Pi (the movie):

"Hold on. You have to slow down. You're losing it. You have to take a breath. Listen to yourself. You're connecting a computer bug I had with a computer bug you might have had and some religious hogwash. You want to find the number 216 in the world, you will be able to find it everywhere. 216 steps from a mere street corner to your front door. 216 seconds you spend riding on the elevator. When your mind becomes obsessed with anything, you will filter everything else out and find that thing everywhere."

If you look for patterns in the world, you'll find it everywhere.

Silly predictions, like Y2K

Anyway, this is two days before my parents' 29th anniversary

and ten days before my brother's 23rd birthday

I don't think there are different levels of Christianity, like trying to be "perfect?" I mean there was only one perfect human being and welp God made him to be perfect and not us, and it's more accepting that than trying to be Jesus, and more about relationship and trust in God than doing good for the sake of doing good

you do good because you love, and God is love, in a sense, idk

I'll never fully understand it, but it doesn't mean you can't try and grow as a person

also "saved" lol, such a modern Christian term for like, getting water poured on your head. I'm not insulting the Church but I don't think that from that moment, your life is changed or uh "saved", it's more of a recognition that you're going to work towards loving God and Jesus. but of course that would require you to be looking for him through your life...you can't just get a passport to heaven, but you can't earn it either.

oh, Christianity. so misconstrued sometimes, it really makes my heart hurt :<
