The Purpose of the Shoutbox

I've enabled a "shoutbox" on the index page, this is not for everyone to use in the sense you talk in it, we have a chat for that, it's for live updates on topic creation and replies to help spark conversations.

You might see: "~Tappy: created topic 'The Purpose of the Shoutbox' in Open Floor & Casual Discussion" or "~Tappy: replied to topic 'Talk'"

Unfortunately when you reply to a topic it doesn't take you to the reply itself but the original post of the thread (the first post) or when you create a topic it doesn't actually link to the topic but the forum it was posted in. I'm going to try and talk to the developer to see if he can work something up...

The forums that won't show up in the shoutbox are:

The Ancient Ruins (and all sub-boards)

Forum Games and Werewolf

The Wild West

Role Playing and Zelda Role Playing

and all staff forums.

Saha, admins ( you and I) can actually use the shoutbox, handy if you want to make a quick announcement, assuming it doesn't get pushed down or people are actually looking at it.

I'm not overly fussed at the not-taking-you-to-actual-post though, but idk if other people desperately want it. :x

It's set to only show 10 shouts, I'm going to adjust the height of it accordingly so it won't have the scroll bar.

i know clicking the link from the main forum page takes you to the last unread post, but clicking the topic from anywhere else takes you to the first post.....and making the second act like the first would be bloody awesome, imo.
