King Bulbin

Why was King Bulbin in Ordon in the first place? He kidnapped all of the children, than he just ditched them. Renado found them, brought them to Kakariko, and Bulbin came after the kids again.

The game was never specific on King Bulbin's goals in TP.

Here is my theory/fan fiction about the dark side of TP's story.

King Bulbin went to Ordon looking for the heir to the Hero of Time under the orders of Ganondorf, kind of like the Helmaroc king went looking for Zelda's heir in WW. When he grabbed all of the kids he could find, he blew his horn signaling Zant to take over the rest of Ordon/Faron. He didn't notice Link who was unconscious below his steed, Lord Bullbo.

He took the kids to Ganondorf somewhere near Kakariko in the cloud of Zant's spreading twilight. Ganondorf found no Triforce of Courage in them, so they were left for dead. Renado found them and brought them to Kakariko.

Ganondorf soon got word from Zant that the Faron Light Spirit had been revived. It was obvious to Ganondorf that Link's heir had already begun his quest. He ordered Zant to cloak Kakariko in Twilight and destroy the village, but to leave the ordonian kids alone. The shadow assassins had no trouble ripping Kakraiko apart.

He told King Bulbin to wait for Link and kill him before he was strong. Since Ganondorf had no physical body yet, he had to trust King Bulbin with the task. Link went on to revive Eldin and restore light to the Eldin Providence.

King Bulbin acted fast and went to grab one of the kids. Though his goal was to grab Beth, it was Colin that ended up being captured through an act of bravery. King Bulbin lead Link on a wild goose chase while his minions attempted to dispatch the hero. With all of his armor removed, King Bulbin knew his only chance at defeating Link would be the Eldin Bridge.

With that, the joust began. King Bulbin had the upper hand, yet he was still defeated by his new enemy. He fell far into the Zora River. Though he nearly drowned, he was just barely able to survive. He recovered Lord Bullbo somewhere above Lake Hylia.

Though he had no orders, he now had a grudge against Link. He knew that with the Eldin Bridge destroyed by Zant's minions, Link would eventually have to cross the Great Bridge of Lake Hylia. He waited there, killing any Hylian guards brave enough to face him.

Link came soon with an escort mission. Bulbin used his newly acquired shoulder shields, while Link used his newly acquired Hero's Bow. After a few arrows to the head, King Bulbin once again lost a joust to Link. He fell from the bridge into the lake below.

Bulbin awaited Ganondorf's new orders in anguish. He was told to lead a small band of Bulbins to the western desert. King Bulbin was to assist Zant by guarding the entrance to Arbiter's Grounds while he destroyed the Mirror of Twilight.

As Ganondorf had predicted, Link arrived shortly after Zant left. Link quickly dispatched his minions and came face to face with him again. This time, King Bulbin brought a weapon. Using brute strength, King Bulbin put in all of his effort to kill his enemy. Severely wounded, Bulbin retreated with one last trick up his sleeve. He caught fire to the room Link was trapped in and made his way back to Hyrule.

Link escaped using the Bullbo that King Bulbin had brought.

Link quickly began recovering the rest of the Twilight Mirror Shards. When King Bulbin returned to the Hidden Village that 20 of his finest were guarding, he found it empty, despite a herd of cats. King Bulbin begged Ganondorf for another chance at Link. He was given his last chance at Hyrule Castle. Again, he fought hard, but lost brutally.

"Enough," he said. He no longer followed Ganondorf. Seeing on four occasions just how powerful the new Hero of Hyrule was, King Bulbin sided with him. He gave Link the key needed to proceed into the castle and face Ganondorf.

Though King Bulbin stated that he was on Link's side, he still rides ruthlessly through Hyrule Field causing mischief.

"I follow the strongest side!

. . . That is all I have ever known."

-King Bulbin.

Anyway. Feel free to discuss King Bulbin, Lord Bullbo, Bulbins, ect. here.

He (Ganondorf) ordered Zant to cloak Kakariko in Twilight and destroy the village, but to leave the ordonian kids alone.

Why would Ganondorf want to leave a bunch of kids alone? :embarrassed:

Besides that, I love the theory, it makes a lot of sense about the bublin.

The first time I played the game... I didn't notice it was the same creature :embarrassed:

Maybe to lure Link there. When Link arives in Kakariko he fights some Twilight monsters. Maybe those where there to kill him when he came to save the children.

Love the theory, Goron Merchant :joy:

Exactly. He wanted the kids left alone so he could use them as bait.

(Thank you ladies.)

When I first started typing I was just gonna say he was looking for Link in Ordon, but I just kept going on and on until I had the entire game. . .

That's a pretty good theory Goron Merchant. Maybe you should try some more theories for TP.

That was a really good theory, it explained alot ^^ I always wondered why he had this obsession with taking the kids and defeating Link when he wasnt even on a side, but that made sense ^^

Nicely done!

Speaking of Ralis, I wonder who killed Queen Rutela. She told you that she was assassinated in front of her people. But was it Shadow Assassins that killed her, or a group of Bulbins?

Oh, about the Zant thing, I think Zant killed him too. Zant said that his life was tied to Ganondorf's but was Ganondorf's tied to his? I think Zant was the only thing keeping Ganondorf alive, so he snapped his own neck, thus killing Ganondorf too.

That was a good read, I never bother to think any deeper about the games than I need to, so I haven't wondered about him...the Zant thing explains a lot too, but I don't think Zant looks dead after he snaps his neck....and he thought Ganon was a god, so why would he even try to kill him?

The first time I played the game... I didn't notice it was the same creature :embarrassed:

Me neither :embarrassed:
