  1. Don't go to Lanayru! You have to go there last otherwise it might cause a game breaking glitch! Go to Faron first!

  2. Fear is bubbling in my stomach as we make our way along the wooden tracks for Groose's bomb flinging weapon. The ground is shaking even as we walk, making me feel like we're on a death march, headed straight towards something terrible. Link's fought this creature before, he stressed how difficult it is to defeat and how it had evolved the second time that he fought it. What if it's changed again? What if it's too strong to take down this time?"

"Aight," Groose says by way of greeting as we arrive by his 'Groosenator'. "It's good to see ya again, just a shame that ol' grease wad here is the reason why."

"How long do you think we've got?" Link asks, looking grim.

"Not long at all," Groose sighs as he wipes his brow. "The ground's been tremblin' like crazy. I reckon it'll break out any moment. You might wanna get down there."

Link nods as he turns to make his way down to the center of the pit.

"Hey Link," Pipit says. "Do you want us to help you?"

Link shrugs. "It might help, though Groose could use a hand too. Uhh... how about Emzy, Pipit, Bryarly and Karane, you come with me to the center. Callia, Zurin and Fledge, you stay up here and help Groose with the groosenator, ok?"

I nod, knowing that I'll certainly be more use aiming and calculating the strength needed than I would be trying to chase a monster. The ground begins to tremble again, shaking more ferociously than the last time.

"Come on, let's hurry!" Bryarly says. "We don't have much time to lose!"

  3. "The Song is the key to revealing the secret location of the Triforce. The Goddess split this song into four parts. She entrusted one part to me and the other three to the Dragons of the land. You must gather each of the parts of the Song of the Hero. Seek out the dragons, and convince them to teach you their parts. When they've taught you what they know, come to me and I will complete the song with my own voice! The dragons can be found at Faron Woods, Eldin Volcano, and Lanayru Desert. Go on, then. Find the dragons you now seek!"
As he finishes his small speech, I can't ignore the sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. In our time on the surface, we only met one dragon, Faron. Let's just say that it didn't go too well...

"Come on!" Link shouts through the whipping wind as he dives off the platform and into the skies again. We all follow, swooping through the thunderhead and out into the open air. We fly in silence, eventually dropping off our loftwings on the Skyloft Plaza.

"So we're going to go find the dragons of the surface then," Emzy muses. "That doesn't sound too hard, right?"

"You're forgetting about Faron!" I remind him. "She can't stand us, remember?"

"I'll sort out Faron," Link says. "Now come on, the sooner we find the pieces of the song, the sooner we can unite with Zelda!"

"Hold on," Pipit says. "Shouldn't we contact Zurin first? Let him know where to meet us?"

I try to swallow the lump in my throat.

"Good idea," Link mumbles, rummaging through his pocket and pulling out the gossip stone. "Hey Zurin!" He says into it. "We've got to find the Water Dragon Faron and get her to teach us a song. Why don't you meet us at the back entrance to her temple? You know, near to the ancient cistern?"

"NO!" Zurin's voice comes out desperate and short of breath. "There's a slight issue with the woods... the dragon became irritable and she flooded the whole area!"

    "WHAT?" Bryarly yelps.

"But that's not the main issue right now!" Zurin continues. "The seal... Demise, he's close to breaking the seal once again. You need to get down here... and fast!"

  4. "Alright don't get snarky..." he growls as he slashes his sword at the cluster of green gloop. "Just get down here and help me!"

As we all hesitantly jump off our loftwings, one of the balls of green goop hits the creature, temporarily stunning him.

I frown. "He's vulnerable to his own missiles! As long as you volley the attacks to hit him... we can take him down!"

Pipit turns to me, grinning. "You're pretty good at figuring out people's weaknesses..." Unfortunately, in turning to face me, he's looked away from the parasite.

"Watch out!" Karane yelps, but it's too late. Pipit is hit in the arm by one of the sludge balls and knocked down. After a moment on the ground, he begrudgingly gets back to his feet, looking rather disgusted by the slimy stain on his sleeve.

"Are you ok?" Bryarly asks as she rallies another slime ball back at the creature.

"Yeah, I'm ok," Pipit eventually says.

We rally the rest of the attacks in silence, choosing instead to focus on our aim. It's not easy to battle on the back on a moving creature, with the wind whipping at our hair, biting our skin and whistling in our ears. On one occasion, Bryarly almost fell off but she steadied herself just in time. Typical clumsy Bryarly... After a taking a few hits, the creature tends to fall down to the ground, allowing Emzy, who lies in wait, to slash away at his eye.

"He can't have much fight left in him..." Link mutters, growling as he lashes out with his sword at another slime ball. It flies forward, striking the hideous parasite directly in his exposed eye. A moment of tense silence falls over us all... is he going to morph? Transform? Fight back?

Suddenly, the parasite begins spamming and flailing uncontrollably, then his long, weedy body begins to seize and crackle before bursting into a cloud of red droplets.

"Thank the goddess for that..." Emzy mutters, wiping her brow.

Link smiles softly to himself as he sheaths his sword. "Thanks Zelda..." he whispers.

  5. "Congratulations everyone!" Owlan says, clasping his hands together proudly. "You should all be very pleased with yourselves. Now, if you really do wish to go speak with the great Levias, then I beg a favor of you. Each year I deliver him a large portion of the Lumpy Pumpkins famous soup! But due to the conditions in the thunderhead and his temperment... I am ashamed to say that this year I have failed to do so. Would you deliver the soup to Levias for me? He may even see it as a peace offering!"

Link smiles warmly. "Of course we will Instructor Owlan."

So we set off towards the Lumpy Pumpkin and inform Kina of Owlan's request. It takes a couple of hours for her to cook up the extra large vat of pumpkin soup, which she pours into an over-sized pumpkin for us to take to Levias.

"Uhh..." Bryarly stalls. "Slight logistical issue... how are we meant to carry something so heavy?"

Just at that moment, Fi emerges from Link's sword, ready and baited with an answer. "Master Link, I highly recommend we enlist the services of the robot named Scrapper to help us once again. Would you like for me to call him Master Link?"

We all let out a loud groan. "Not Scrapper," Emzy whines. "He's always complaining, and he's so rude!"

"I guess we don't have any other choice," Link sighs. "Ok, call Scrapper."

As annoying as that little robot may be, it's only a few short minutes before we're swooping into the thunder head with Scrapper tailing just behind us. I recall something Owlan said about leaving the soup on an island with a rainbow, so shout instructions to the others. Within thirty seconds, we're all landing on a small rock with shimmering colors stretched over the top of it.

Scrapper rather unceremoniously drops the vat of soup onto the island with a little whirr-chunk. He makes a hasty excuse before flying off.

"Rude little robot..." Karane mutters under her breath.

"Ok," Fledge says, trying to change the subject. "How do we find Levias to-"

But his voice is abruptly cut off as a low grumbling errupts through the air. The platform below us begins to tremble and shake and the grumbling noise gets louder and louder. We all look around us in confusion and surprise, struggling to maintain our balance.
    "WHAT'S HAPPENING?" Emzy yells.

Just at that moment, a gigantic creature zooms out of the sky. His body is humongous, bigger than all of us combined and he swims effortlessly through the air. He has no arms or legs, just useless little stubby flaps and a long tail that could take us out in one fell swoop. Sprouting from deep crevices in his skin are long, wriggling, red creatures with wide gaping eyes.

He swoops low over us, forcing us all to lie on our stomachs or get hit by his sheer force. I cling desperately to the earth as the growls become loud enough to shake me right down to my bones and the creature swoops off into the thunderhead.

"LEVIAS!" I cry, my voice only just loud enough to be heard over his deep growl. "THAT'S LEVIAS!"

"TO THE LOFTWINGS!" Link cries as we all leap to our feet and make a dash for the edge...

  6. (That sounds great Knuckles! You're best speaking with Franne about writing the fanfiction, as she's chief writer at the moment - I'm just editing! I'm sure she'd be happy to let you lend a hand!)

We make our way down the steps of the academy and out into the bright sunshine. Skyloft is as busy as ever, almost as if we never left, though the large thunderhead looks somehow more daunting as we approach the diving platform just outside of school.

"Ok," Owlan says. "This is a very complex move, I normally only teach this to upper classmen, so I'm afraid that for you younger students, this may be a tad trickier. However, I'm sure that working as a team, you'll be able to master the move much more easily."

He briefly describes the move to us all, before instructing us to jump off the platform and call our loftwings. We obey, and it's only a matter of moments before I'm on the back of my strong, powerful bird. We hover as a small cluster just off the edge of Skyloft.

"Ok!" Owlan calls out. "Now, your birds were trained from enrollment to be able to do this move, you just need to give them the right command! What you need to do, it when you want to perform the spinning attack, dig the heels of your palms into the shoulderblades of your birds - that should tell them to twist! Uhh... Emzy, you're a skilled bird rider, show us what you can do!"

Emily nods obediently, and flies off away from us to gain a little momentum. Once she's far enough away, she does as Instructer Owlan told her to, and her bird begins to violently twist through the air like a drill. Emzy whoops with delight as she's flung around a few times, before circling back around and returning to us.

"Very good!" Owlan comments. "Now the rest of you try!"

We all swoop off in different directions, spacing ourselves apart so that we don't hurt anyone. Once I'm sure that I'm far enough away from the rest of the group, I take a deep breath and dig the heels of my palms in. Suddenly the world flips sickeningly as I'm whirled around and around. The blood rushes to my brain and I let out an excited squeal.

As quickly as it happened, it's over, and I'm right way up again. I feel a little dazed and shocked as I swoop around to fly back to the others. Excitement and eagerness bubbles inside of me. It was the kind of thrill that's terrifying, but you can't wait to do it again!

  7. "Owlan!" Link calls out as he throws open the door to the professors room.

Owlan looks a little startled as he turns to face us all. He's obviously surprised by our sudden interruption.

"Students!" he exclaims. "You really should knock."

"Sorry professor," I say. "We were wondering if you could help us with something?"

"I'll try my best," he replies.

Pipit and Link take it upon themselves to explain he situation to professor Owlan. He listens intently, with a most befuddled expression on his aging face. Once the boys have finished their story, he sighs.

"Levias resides inside the thunderhead just off of Skyloft. It would have been simple to speak with him and get whatever information you require. But I fear that our old friend hasn't been quite himself of late."

    Bryarly frowns. "How so?"

  8. "You have to know that they never wanted me to leave at first," Link explains. "I had to practically beg them to let me leave. In the end they only agreed that I could go if they went with me to make sure I was safe. They were just trying to protect me... and I was just trying to protect Zelda."

There's a few moments of silence, where we all watch the Headmaster hopefully. His eyes are studying us all with an air of sad clarity.

"That's all very well and good, and I understand that you had the right intentions," the Headmaster says, laying his clasped hands down on his desk. "But you went about it in completely the wrong way. You endangered yourselves and my daughter..."

"We're really sorry sir..." Karane mumbles.

The headmaster sighs, looking down a little. "Under normal circumstances, you would have to face the music for breaking my rules. But as I'm sure you're aware, these aren't normal circumstances. I'm willing to let these matters rest on the shelf while we focus on the more pressing situation. Link, you mentioned the Triforce? I have to question why you're asking me about such a sacred part of our history?"

  9. (I'm sorry to hear about everything with your grandma and hope she recovers soon. We'll miss you, but we completely understand and look forward to your return!)

I'd be lying if I said that I got a good nights sleep. Between the sounds of wind rattling through our old academy, and Emzy loud snores, it's hard to get any peace. Of course, it isn't helped by the sound of Bryarly's sniffling from the next room... I think she's still a little upset about Link, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. I thought about going in and talking to her, but couldn't think of what to say to comfort her. In the end, I just stayed in bed, continuing to stare at the ceiling and wishing that I could sleep.

By the time morning dawns I've only gotten about three hours of sleep but I can't stand to lie in bed any longer, so I get up. It takes me ten minutes to get washed up and dressed. As I make my way into the academy's dining room, I find Bryarly, Karane, and Link sat eating their breakfast and looking a little sleepy. I guess I wasn't the only one who has a rough night.

"Morning," Link says by way of greeting as I approach the table.

"Morning," I reply, addressing it to all of my friends.

"Have you heard?" Karane asks, biting into her toasted bread.

"Heard what?" I ask as I grab an apple from the bowl on the table.

"The headmaster wants to see us all once everyone's up," she says.

"It sounds like a death sentence if you ask me," Bryarly says. "We're going to be in deep deep trouble."

"Maybe..." Link mumbles. "I really hope not!"

  10. We take Kukiel back home to her mother and father, both of whom are overjoyed to see their daughter safe again. We don't tell them everything about the Demon, we simply say that Kukiel was playing on the other side of the lake and was too scared to jump over the stepping stones alone at night time. Luckily, Kukiel plays along and her parents buy our story without too much trouble. Her mother thanks us repeatedly, and offers us food and a place to stay overnight. We thank her for her offer, but decide to make our way back over to the academy.

"So Zurin was right..." Bryarly muses as we make our way back across Skyloft.

"I should have realized," I mumble. "Everything he said about Demons letting of the evil aura... the remlits and the bats and-"

"Hey," Fledge says, squeezing my hand. "Don't feel bad, no one realized!"

"Enough about that," Pipit says as we proceed up the little slope outside the bazaar. "What about the triforce? Link, what happened with the headmaster?"

Link blows out his cheeks, as if thinking something over. "I didn't really know what to say to him... I didn't tell him everything about Zelda. I couldn't bare to! But I told him she was safe..." There's a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, in which Link looks completely forlorn before he snaps his attention back to us. "I did ask him about the Triforce, but he said it was too late to discuss such matters and that we should all go and see him in the morning."

"Did he sound annoyed at us for running off?" Emzy asks.

Link shrugs. "It's hard to say, but I doubt we'll get off too easily."

"Oh dear..." I sigh as we reach the doors of the knight academy. "Well there's no point in dwelling on it... I think we should all just try to get a good nights sleep."

  11. (Umm... guys? We've completely gone off track of the main point? We'll pick it up later but in the story we'll have to put that first or else it won't make sense!)

"I don't know..." Fledge says, swallowing hard.

"Is it just me or did that sound like Kukiel?" Emzy asks.

"It's not just you, that was definitely Kukiel!" I yelp.

"Come on! She might be in danger!" Link says, dashing towards the now open storage shed door. We all crowd around, glancing in. There's a small hole in the floor, with a long ladder that leads quite a way down.

"What the hell is down there?" Karane asks. "Why don't people know about this?"

Link sighs. "There's only one way to find out."

He grips hold of the ladder and slowly begins to clamber down. We all follow, one by one until we're all standing on the narrow wooden platform below Skyloft. The stars glimmer in the night sky to our left, rocks surround us to our right, and straight ahead there's a doorway with demonic shapes surrounding it.

"What the-" Pipit begins but he's cut off as another scream rips through the air. We all glance at each other nervously for a second, before racing down along the narrow pathway towards the door. Link is the first to reach the door, and doesn't hesitate to rip it open.

  12. Skyloft looks as peaceful and happy as I've always known it to be as we jump from our Loftwings and land on the plaza. The bunting is still blowing softly in the warm breeze, Beadle's air shop is still letting out it's familiar clicking sound as it floats around the island, and the drumming of the waterfall is still audible even from here. But things feel... different.

As we walk along with paved pathways of our home, people are giving us strange glances, Link in particular. I can't tell if they're relieved, concerned, irritated or just curious. Fledge tugs nervously at his sleeves and Bryarly brushes part of her hair back behind her ear as we proceed up the steps of the academy.

"What's our plan of action?" Pipit asks.

"Yeah, Gaepora won't exactly be forgiving after we ran off twice!" I say, placing my hands on my hips.

"Let me talk to him," Link says. "I'll explain why I was so desperate to run off, how I convinced you all to come with me. I'll tell him everything about Zelda... and hopefully he'll be a little more lenient."

"What should we do?" Emzy asks.

"We'll go do some research," Karane says. "Try and find out what we can about the Triforce - there's got to be something in our history books!"

There's an exchange of nervous nods and mumbled agreements before we push open the doors of the Knight Academy and make our way in.

  13. (Wow... sorry for the length of this... I got a little carried away)

Zurin feigns acceptance, though I can tell he's a little disappointed in mine and Bryarly's reactions. I want to forgive him, I really do. I want this all just to blow over and say it's ok and set back off to meet up with Link and Zelda, but it's not that simple. I wish it were that simple. The fact of the matter is that I'm terrified. Terrified of what he might do now that I know what he is, or at least was, capable of.

"Callia?" he urges. "Please say something..."

But I honestly don't know what to say.

Just at that moment, a strange ringing noise erupts from where Zurin's pack lies on his bedside table. Moments later, Groose's voice fills the room "Uhh... hello? Anyone there?"

Emzy dives forward, fumbling through the pouch until she finds the gossip stone. "Groose?" she exclaims. "What are you doing?"

"Emzy?" Groose asks. "Link said something about this stone being able to talk to you guys?"

    "Where's Link?" Bryarly cuts in.

"It's not good guys..." he says, his voice hushed. "You might wanna get down to the sealed temple, fast!"

And with that the line cuts off. We all stare around in silence, worried and confused.

"Think you can make it, buddy?" Pipit asks Zurin.

He nods slowly, "It's worth a shot."

    ---

"Where is he?" Pipit asks, throwing the doors of the temple.

I don't even have the time to admire the strange contraption in the center of the room before Groose rushes up to us, worry evident on his big face. "Before you see him... I've got to explain. Something... something happened with Zelda. I don't really understand it, Link was in a right state when he explained but... she's in some kind of age-long sleep. It's something to do with keeping the Demon King sealed? I don't know... but Link... he's taken it badly."

    "How badly?" Karane asks.

"He's in the back room..." Groose mumbles.

And with that we all take off up the steps of the temple towards those massive heavy doors. They're open just a crack so we can fairly easily push them open and get through, but the sight we're met with isn't what I expected.

Zelda's perfectly preserved in some kind of amber crystal that rests among a bed of vines and leaves. Her eyes are closed, and the smallest hint of a smile is fixed on her calm and peaceful face. She's not dressed in her usual clothes, but she instead dons a long white dress and beautiful lilac bracelets. She looks so happy... so at peace... but Link doesn't

He's on his knees just in front of the statue, his back turned to us. His body is hunched over and he's sobbing uncontrollably. Clenched fists bang against the amber stone, yet only the smallest whimper escapes his lips. His sword, now looking slightly different, lies discarded on the cold stone flooring just a few feet away from him along with his shield.

    "Link?" Bryarly whispers.

"All that work," he sobs. "I did all that work and she was here all along... I couldn't make a difference!"

"What are you talking about?" Pipit says softly, taking a step closer to his friend.

Link whirls around, his face red and eyes ablaze from his emotional state. Trails of tears stain his cheeks and his hair is tousled and messy. Each breath heaves through his whole body, chest rising and falling with every heart beat.

"I couldn't save her!" he bellows, his voice graveling. "There was nothing I could do to stop it! She told me that she was still my Zelda BUT I COULDN'T SAVE HER!"

  14. "That's all very touching, but we need to do something about Zurin!" Pipit cuts in. "Has anyone got a healing potion?"

"I think so..." Bryarly says, fumbling through her pouch and producing a small glass bottle filled with a red potion. She hands it to Pipit who carefully uncorks the bottle and pours the contents between Zurin's lips.

"It's clear you need to go after Zelda, Link," Emzy says. "But Zurin's not going to be able to go anywhere for a while..."

"We're not leaving him here," Pipit insists. "He's done so much for us, I won't leave him behind."

    I frown. "He created Ghira-"

"And saved your life!" Pipit snaps at me. I blink a few times, startled. "We're taking him back to Skyloft with us."

"Pipit..." Karane breathes, resting her hands on his shoulders. "I know that Zurin needs our help... but we can't smuggle a Demon into Skyloft."

"We'll just keep him at the lumpy pumpkin! Look... he saved us from the water dragon. Without him, we'd never have been able to defeat the thousand year arachnid. Don't you think it's about time we returned the favor!"

"Ok..." Emzy says. "Action plan: Link, you take your new sword and go find Zelda. Do whatever it is that you need to do to make sure she's safe..." Emzy then rummages through her pocket, producing a gossip stone which she then presses into Link's palm. "Take this. When you've found Zelda and know what to do next, talk into it and we'll hear you, Zurin's got the other one in the pair. Meanwhile, we'll take Zurin back to Skyloft and try to help him recover. We'll also do some research, find out what we can about The Demon King and Ghirahim. There's got to be something that can help us... ok?"

"Ok," Link says, nodding with determination.

  15. "He's breathing..." Emzy says.

I slowly make my way over, wary as to what I might find. Zurin is still slumped against the wall, limbs lying limp on the floor beside him. Bruising runs up the side of his face from where Ghirahim slammed him into the wall, and he still appears to be unconscious. Pipit kneels down in front of him and pulls Zurin up in to a sitting position resting against the wall. His head lolls dangerously and his hood, which is usually pulled up, has now fallen back around his shoulders.

I honestly don't know how I'm supposed to feel or what I'm supposed to think right now. I didn't trust Zurin when I first met him, I was sure he was going to betray us to the Demon King or try to harm us. But over time, I've grown to trust him a little more. Especially after he helped me with my broken leg and saved us from Faron the Water Dragon.

But now I've learnt what he's been hiding from us all this time... I'm utterly confused. He was the creator of Ghirahim, the man who's been perusing my friends from the very beginning. I knew he'd worked for the Demon King because he called him his old master, but I never thought he'd have done something like that. The very thought that he had the power and the heart to do something like that... it horrifies me.

And as I watch him now, I feel almost ashamed of myself. The truth is that I'm terrified of someone that I used to call my friend.

  16. Pipit bangs one clenched fist against the diamond barrier, letting out and cry of anguish. He then resorts to whipping out his sword and hacking away at the diamond barrier. Every time his swords hits it clangs like metal on metal, but it doesn't even scratch the protective wall.

Ghirahim growls in frustration as he slashes his sword out at Link, who nimbly dodges. "Tell your little friend to behave himself, won't you?"

"YOU'RE A COWARD!" Emzy shouts, but Ghirahim merely smirks in reaction as he raises his sword to block Link's attack. It seems almost like an even match...

Ghirahim sends five daggers whizzing through the air, but Link deflects them so they fly back towards the Demon Lord who growls as one grazes across his arm. "ENOUGH GAMES!" he bellows as he summons yet another onyx sword almost from thin air. His eyes gleam with a stomach churning malice as he and Link continue to thoughtlessly battle. I glance back over to where Zurin is still lying, helpless on the floor, cut off from the rest of us by his own wall of diamonds. I then turn my attention back to the battle at hand.

"Link!" I shout. "He's only got two swords, he can't block from every angle!"

"Well aren't you clever," Ghirahim hisses, shooting me a poisonous glare.

Link doesn't have the time to reply before Ghirahim makes another charge, but it's clear he took on board what I said because he changes his tactics. He lures Ghirahim into blocking either side, then makes a quick slash from above or below. Ghirahim is slow to catch onto Link's new method, but it's clear his power is beginning to diminish. Link makes another powerful strike from above, and one of Ghirahim's swords shatters into little black diamonds.

"...Enough of this foolishness..." he growls. "I am Ghirahim, Demon Lord!"

  17. (GODDAMNIT KNUCKLES THAT WAS INTENSE)

I watch in horror as Zurin's body is slammed against the wall of the chamber before falling, limp as a ragdoll. I stare at him in silence for a few moments, willing him to get back up again, but he doesn't - he just lies still. From beside me I hear a soft throaty chuckle, Ghirahim sounds particularly pleased with himself. We all watch as Ghirahim strides slowly towards Zurin's almost lifeless body, taking a few training swipes in the air as he approaches. I feel almost paralyzed, too afraid to move. But thank Hylia that someone isn't as cowardly as I am...

An angry growl rips from Link's throat as he races forward, sword raised high above his head as he dives towards Ghirahim. Just seconds before his powerful blade bites into Ghirahim's flesh, the Demon Lord vanishes and reappears a good distance away from Link, smirking proudly.

"Why do you fight to protect him?" Ghirahim spits. "He's a Demon, the kind you're trying to destroy. You really think he'll remain loyal to you? He'll betray you as easily as he did my master!"

  18. (Hello everyone! Sorry I've been away for so long and left you all for a while, there's been a lot of stuff happening lately that took up my time, and then there were certain events that caused personal problems that I won't get into - but I'm here now and I'm really looking forward to the meeting between Zurin and Ghriahim! - I know you've got something planned Knuckles! ;) )

The heat in this temple, though probably worse than the previous Eldin temple, seems a little more bearable. To be completely honest, I'd put that down to a combination of the firesheild earrings and the fact that the temple rooms are interspersed with long outdoor corridors that allow us chance to cool off in the open air.

I can't help but notice how now that we're accompanying Link, rather than following him, our dungeon excursions take a lot longer. We have to pull together to figure out how to solve complex puzzles and use various equipment that Link has received to navigate our way along dangerous terrain. That's not even mentioning the new form of more powerful Lizalfos that are waiting for us in various locations.

But after a long two day haul through the dungeon, we're beginning to lose hope. We're almost out of food and our water supplies are diminishing. Everyone is tired, dirty, and we're slowly getting more and more irritable. I've had to break up bickered arguments between Pipit and Emzy on multiple occasions, and even Link is beginning to succumb to his fatigue. But eventually, we find what we've been searching for.

    "Are you sure?" Bryarly asks.

"This room holds the sacred flame that is needed to enhance Master Link's sword," Fi says.

"Right... but it's what's inside the room that concerns me..." Link mumbles.

"What are you talking about?" I ask.

Link sighs. "From my experience, sacred flames or spiritual springs are usually guarded by powerful enemies... like Koloktos or the Sea Monster that we met on the sandship..."

"Well whatever it is, we'll face it together," I reassure him, and he gives me a small smile. A look of determination sets over his bright blue eyes, and he nods slowly, before producing the oddly shaped key from his pocket and slipping it into the lock. There's a loud set of clanking and clunking noises, before the door opens with an audible creak.

  19. (Yeah but we got the scales from the actual Water Dragon, anyway, Zurin's teleportation can bring us to the entrance of the dungeon... which also means we can skip the irritating water bottle ordeal!)

We stare around at each other, dumbfounded yet again at our own idiocy. This is a repeat of the excruciating clawshot ordeal, where we once again forgot about Zurin's teleportation power - even Zurin forgot.

"Smart idea," Zurin says, summoning his powers to teleport us to the nearest location to the boiling volcano caves as possible. We stand on a beautifully tiled bridge that leads across to the entrance of a rather frightening looking building. Fire flares up from the entrance way, and a ridiculously large frogs head looms above, it's mouth open, gaping for something.

"If legends are to be believed," Zurin says. "In here lies the flame of Din."

"Then we've got to find a way in," Leala says simply.

"There's fire in the way!" Bryarly reminds her.

Just that moment, the strange chime sounds out and Fi appears from Link's sword. "Master Link, I project that if you dowse the ornamental frog statue with water, the flames will be extinguished. However, it's worth noting that a considerable amount of water is required to complete such a task." With that, she vanishes again.

Pipit frowns. "How are we going to get water?"

"And how are we meant to bring it here?" I muse.

Link grins. "While I was adventuring alone... I enlisted the help of a certain little robot who's... really rather rude and in love with Fi... but great at carrying things!"

"That still doesn't help us with where to get the water from!" I remind him.

From behind us, Zurin lets out an audible sigh. We all turn to look at him, and he says "I hate to say it... but there is one way we can get the water here..."

    "How?" Bryarly asks.

"Do you remember when we went to visit the Water Dragon... she had a basin?"

I roll my head back and let out a loud groan... we all remember what happened last time we met with the Water Dragon...

  20. (Oh you absolute tease Knuckle!)

We watch as our friends drop into their almost comatose state and silence falls over this blazing hot land.

Emzy lets out a loud sigh. "Are we cowards?"

    Fledge shrugs. "Maybe..."

"Don't think about it," I reply, as we settle ourselves down on the ground. In all honesty I had planned to go with them. But I was a little startled by Zurin's offer for assistance, and never managed to speak up before they all entered the Silent Realm. It doesn't matter anyway, it's not like I wanted to go.

I pass around a bottle of water from my adventure pouch and everyone takes a sip to keep them hydrated in this sweltering heat. We talk about what still lies ahead, where we might be heading next and where we think Zelda could have gotten to. While the others continues to converse I cast my gaze up the volcano side. For just a second, I swear I see a sparkle of dark red out of the corner of my eye near to the heated caverns in the volcano. I squint to try and get a closer look, but it's gone as fast as it came.

    "Are you alright?" Karane asks.

I nod quickly. "Yeah... I just... thought I saw something..."

"It was probably nothing," Fledge says, squeezing my hand.

(And now you guys can get on with the Silent Realm!)

  21. As we plummet through the cloud barrier, Fi guides us to the first bird statue that we encountered upon our original arrival. Within about thirty seconds, we've all landed by the statue, with the aid of our sailcloths, and find Zurin already stood waiting for us.

"Good to see you all again," he says, take a few slow steps closer to the group.

"You too," Link replies sincerely. He's quickly become accustomed to the idea of a demon assisting us.

Our pleasantries are quickly exchanged, and Link pulls out his sword and dowsing process begins. It takes us a small while to find the entrance of the Silent Realms. We hop around this lava infested Link while Link waves his sword around and we all listen to it's monotone beep, which slowly becomes more and more infuriating. However, we soon find our way, and arrive halfway up the Volcano assent.

Link produces his harp, and Fi emerges from his sword. The two begin to play a duet of the song that we previously heard in the isle of songs, and yet another flower mark forms on the ground.

"Ok," Leala says once the ritual is complete. "Who's going and who's staying?"

PCK... there is spoilers below. You may not wanna read if you don't want it spoilt...

(I've been thinking, for storyline purposes of the ff... maybe we should have some kind of backstory between Zurin and Ghirahim? They're both Demons, and from Knuckle's first entry it's clear they knew each other before the events of Skyward Sword... some kind of confrontation could begin in Eldin and end after the final battle with Ghirahim... I don't know, I just thought it might add a little excitement to the Eldin section. Thoughts?)

  22. "What do you mean? Callia, seriously, I'm really, really confused right now," Link says, almost desperate. He gives me a pleading look with his bright blue eyes that almost makes me want to cave, but I set a firm lip and turn away.

"You're a smart guy, Link," I say. "You know about the histories and the rules of the blade and the wing but... you're also very naive."

A frown sets over his expression as he takes a step closer. "What's that supposed to mean?"

I sigh heavily. "Nothing for you to worry about," I insist. "That wound won't heal unless you get plenty of sleep... you should probably turn in."

    "But you said..."

"Go, Link!" I say, turning back to my history book.

He lets out a reluctant sigh, but nods, making his way over to the door. It's only as it clicks shut that the other door is thrown open and Bryarly makes her way in.

"I can't believe you!" she hisses.

    "What?" I snap. "I didn't tell him!"

"You might as well have done!" she yelps.

"Oh please," I sigh. "I'm not the one caught in a juvenile deboccal with the boy across the hall! What are you, thirteen?"

"Excuse me," she says, crossing her arms. "At least I'm not so childish as to have a secret boyfriend!"

"At least I had the decency to tell you about him! YOU on the other hand didn't even tell me, YOUR BEST FRIEND that you had a crush on Link!"

"Wait a minute..." she whispers. "Is that what all this is about?"

I sigh, shaking my head and closing my eyes. "Not all, but part of it, yeah."

  23. (COMIC CON! I'm so jealous!)

"I think you're over looking something there," I cut in. "We were all forbidden from leaving Skyloft, and Link was supposed to stay until he had recovered from his injuries. If we go back there, they won't let us get away easily."

"Well where have you been staying overnight before?" Link asks.

    "The Lumpy Pumpkin," Fledge replies.

"Fine," Link says. "We'll head back there then. And tomorrow morning, we'll make our way over to the isle of songs and meet Zurin afterwards."

    ---

"Hey Callia..." Link mumbles as he pokes his head around mine and Bryarly's bedroom door. "Can you help me?"

"What's up?" I ask, looking up from the history book.

"Kina gave me this antiseptic potion I'm supposed to use, and I don't have a clue how to use it. You're the only one who really listened in our health classes at the academy... will you help me put it on?"

I nod slowly. "Fine then, come in and take off your tunic."

He makes his way in, saying hello to Bryarly who's sewing and extra pocket onto her adventure pouch. He quickly slips of his belt and swordstrap and pulls his tunic and chain mail over his head. I quickly rummage through my drawer and pull out a cloth which I then pour Kina's antiseptic potion onto. Link begins to unwrap the bandages around his chest, and I glance at his gaping wound... which is still raw and looks incredibly sensitive.

"Link..." Bryarly says. "That really doesn't look good..."

"I know," he sighs. "But I had to carry on, Zelda needs me."

Bryarly glances down for a moment, her long hair covering her facial expression so I can't see what she's feeling. "Excuse me..." she mumbles, before making her way towards our en suite bathroom.

    Link frowns. "Is she ok?"

"Fine," I lie, not bothering to point out his niavity. "Ok, now this may sting a little..."

I gently dab the doused cloth onto his wound, watching as he winces and sucks the air in through his teeth.

    "Stop squirming!" I say.

"I can't help it, it stings!" he replies.

    I laugh a little. "You're just a big baby aren't you?"

He pokes his tongue out at me as I continue to dab the yellow tainted potion onto his wound. Once I'm done, I get a clean bandage and help him to wrap it around his chest and tie it in place. Once we're done, he smiles.

"Thanks Callia," he says, putting his uniform back on and making his way over to the door.

    "Link..."

"Yeah?" he asks, turning back to look at me.

I sigh. "Please don't hurt Bryarly..."

He offers me a confused smile. "Now why would I do that?" he says as he closes the door.

  24. I takes us a good while, but we eventually manage to free the robots. We have to tackle some bokoblins and dash through heavy machinery, but we make it. We're then faced with the task of fighting numerous beamos and technokoblins... but we eventually find what Link has been clamoring for: The boss key, which should lead the way to Nayru's Flame.

We make our way back up through the ship and over to the engine room that the robots told us about. Link produces the key, which is made of a strange blue and white material and is heavy and clunky. We spend a few moments twisting and turning the strange shaped key until we find a way to slit it into the lock. We all ready our weapons, and the doors to the boss room are thrown open.

Link is first to step in, and we all follow timidly behind him. Yet, much to my surprise, the room is almost empty.

"Wait... where's the-" Pipit begins, but he's cut off as multiple large purple tentacles fly up through the floor, splintering the wooden floorboards. We don't have the time to tackle them before they duck down again.

"What the heck was that?" Leala asks.

"Some kind of Sea Monster..." Zurin replies. "There's no time to explain, we need to find a way off the ship now, it's under attack!"

Everyone takes to their feet, dashing away from the engine room. We hurry up towards the main deck, despite how the entire ship is starting to lean dangerously. We're just following the path when more tentacles burst out in front of us, blocking the way forward.

Link, thinking quickly, produces his sword. He charges it by raising it upwards, and then unleashes the power at the tentacles and clears our path.

"Come on!" he urges as he slips his sword back into it's scabbard. That's all the encouragement we need. We're just ready to round another corner, when suddenly Fi emerges from Link's sword.

"Master Link," she says, her voice unnaturally calm. "I conjecture by the size of these tentacles, that they creature they belong to is of a large size. I suggest that you make your way out of the ship as quickly as possible, the ship is under attack."

"Really, WE HAD NO IDEA!" Karane snaps as the blue figure dives back into Link's sword.

Just at that moment, the ship tilts even more dangerously, and murky water begins comes flooding through cracks in the walls. It pools up around our ankles, and is continually rising.

"GO GO GO!" Zurin yells, jumping out of the waters reach.
