  3. thanx slaine for posting a pic, finally another member who has used this topic for what it was posted for!

It seems like everybody else here is scared of what people may do to the picture, or what people will say about the way they look. I say who cares.

    IMPRESSIONS FROM FINAL BUILD

    Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Having clocked up 34 hours (and counting) on the final build of the Wii's 'The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess', I will be posting my impressions on here over the coming weeks leading up to the full review in the next issue of the magazine (on sale 24 Nov).

I'm not going to give too much away right now, but rest assured that this is one hell of a game. I was actually surprised at how little I knew about the game. In a similar fashion to Capcom's treatment of RE4 pre-launch, even the hardcore followers probably only know around 5% of what this game has to offer.

I'm not going to ruin the game for you. If you want storyline info, boss tactics, character names etc then go elsewhere. I'm not going to be responsible for ruining this game for people. The story and character development is more relevant in this game than any other Zelda before it. I'm going to post as few spoilers as possible but here's your first warning:

THIS THREAD CONTAINS SPOILERS. AT THE START OF EVERY SECTION I'LL POST WARNINGS SO YOU KNOW WHETHER OR NOT TO READ ANY FURTHER, HOWEVER FOR MAXIMUM ENJOYMENT I WOULDN'T ADVISE READING ANY OF IT!

So, look out for my impressions, and Video Vault updates when the relevant dates arrive. The first one will be very soon.

When the first impressions go up I'll unlock this thread so that you can ask questions. Don't fill this thread with nonsense and speculation. I'll answer what I'm allowed to and only stuff that won't ruin the experience for everyone else. If this thread gets abused I'll lock it and will stop answering questions. Simple as.

    *** Update: 31/10/06 ***

So it turns out that the embargoes actually cover all video footage so I

Here are the translations. No worries, they carry no spoilers.

    Game Watch

Flicking or shaking it causes Link to attack. Game Watch noted that the controller is light and does not cause the wrist to get tired after extended play. Play is intuitive, and Link moves smoothly. Controlling Wolf Link is like controlling human Link. The game

  6. do not read unless yo want to know what happens at the beginning of the game!!

Warning - this update reveals everything that happens in the final version of Twilight Princess up till the first dungeon, and is most likely the same build IGN and other will be playing next week. If you don't want to know a ton of stuff, don't even bother reading this update and pretend it doesn't exist - RED LEVEL spoilers.

So, a NeoGAF forumer named TheGreatDave has posted apparent information from the latest issue of Edge Magazine (UK). I have my source in the UK out looking for a copy of the issue now, but I'm heading to bed so we probably won't have scans anytime soon. However, read below for the apparent information.

READING BELOW THIS POINT IS SPOILERS

    Items:

Before the first dungeon, you will have: learned combat and horse riding, aquired a fishing rod and caught fish, got a slingshot, a lantern, and a "horseshoe-shaped reed" that calls Epona, and "bird shapped reeds" that call hawks to your arm, that you can throw at bees' nests or monkeys.

    Story:

You rescue a couple of children and a monkey from moblins in the woods. Link's on his way to Hyrule to deliver a sword and shield. But poo, Moblins on boars attack, abducting "Colin" and Ilia, and Link gets dragged in to the Twilight, at which point he transforms in to a wolf. He wakes up chained in the ruins of Hyrule Castle, and Midna helps him escape.

With Midna on Wolf Link, you can attack multiple enemies at once with a circular energy around Link, kinda like the spin attack, which you have to do cos the enemies in the Twilight Realm often revive their dead buddies. Wolf Link then goes to meet Zelda, who can tell from the blue eyes that he's actually Hyrule's Savior! He then goes to the non-Twilight village, still as a wolf. People are scared of Wolf Link, but he can talk to animals. He then saves the nearly-Twilight Faron Woods by hunting down shadow insects and collecting the tears of light they've consumed, restoring Light Spirits, AKA Great Fairies. The Light Spirit then makes Link human again. You're then on your way to the first dungeon.

    Music

Oh, and apparently the soundtrack sounds as good as anything in Zelda before now, with the Twilight Realm music being "synthy".

    END SPOILERS

Other than that, this was the first time I got to spend a lot of "quality" time with the fishing demo, and oh man, it's so awesome. It's actually got superior visuals than the dungeon; the water, the trees, the weather. Yes, the weather changes - not the seasons - in the fishing pond. The Nintendo rep said the trees "do" change color, but it is not due to the "seasons", and it's something I can't reveal right now. However, fishing at night, or in the rain, was sweet. You can look into the starry night sky...and...yeah...it's just...greatness.

The guy did confirm the fishing pond is near the starting, and it will be accessible after a certain in-game event, and there will be other areas you can fish at.

    GREEN LEVEL SPOILER

The fishing aspect of the game is tied into a pretty decent sized "sub-quest" of sorts, just like Ocarina of Time. He hinted it may be like Animal Crossing, where you need to catch one of each fish.

    END SPOILER

The Nintendo rep and I joked about lightning, and said how bad of an idea that would be if Link were fishing on the lake when a storm came through. So, what's the Yellow Level spoiler?

    YELLOW LEVEL SPOILER

The boss of the Goron Mines is not actually called Twilit Inferno Pyrus, as I revealed last month. I knew I had the inferno part wrong, but I stuck with it anyway. So I am GANNON-BANNED. The real name is Twilit Igniter Pyrus. I got a blurry video of it, but it's proof there is a name.
