  1. This does sound like fun, but I'm not sure I can commit to too many Minecraft games at once. But if you need an extra for either team, let me know.

  2. It's because a lot of the games we had before were hosted on Megaupload, so Tappy has to find alternatives.

  3. Oh, you go on the Escapist too, Tappy? I started watching the Jimquisition videos a couple months back, and while he can be annoying, he makes some good points.

I think he really hit it on the nose this week. Right now the two places where I really see game sales flourishing are on mobile phones and on online stores like Steam. They're convenient and they're affordable.

I still buy CDs because I don't really like using iTunes. It slows down my computer quite a bit. But I'm considering finding an alternative.

  4. Yeah, Pupper-for-tat is pretty funny when censored.

I think there are non-Maka Wuhu communities, or ones where using the glitch is discouraged. It sounds like Nintendo isn't going to do anything about it, since I guess patching or taking it out of newer cartridges would alienate people and be unfair.

  5. That sound like fun. I wonder if that's possible with the online modes right now. Maybe with battle...

Btw, I'm getting sick of the Maka Wuhu glitch. It's just unfair to people who want to legitimately play the course.

  6. I decided, as suggested, that there should be a Mario Kart 7 thread so people can set up communities and figure out when other people will be on.

I've already set up one community called Hnet Kart, if anyone wants to use it. The code is 02-7960-2696-7976, and it's 150 cc with all items. I can usually be on at about 10:00 Pacific time, but I can make plans.

This thread will likely be buried, but let me know if you're interested.

  7. Oh, and I've set up a Mario Kart 7 community in case you guys want to race against each other. I named it Hnet Kart, and the code is 02-7960-2696-7976. If anyone's interested, let me know when's a good time for you (including timezone, of course)

  8. I'm not surprised that pharmaceutical companies wouldn't be happy with any cure that they couldn't be a part of. Besides. curing a disease means fewer repeat customers. They'd rather administer 'treatments'.

  9. I personally loved the English dub, Eka. Of course the lips didn't watch up quite as well as the Japanese, but the acting was decent enough that I didn't really care.

Also, is it just me or does JP look a little like Travis Touchdown?

  10. I should try that later.

Ah, cartridge tilting. I've been afraid to try it, but I love the one in Goldeneye where the characters start spinning around in the air.

  11. I remember being taught that when I first held a gun: always check for ammo, and obviously never point at anything you don't intend to shoot.

Been reading about gun laws, and in Sweden you need to have two years' experience with guns before you're allowed to own one. In France they have different classes of weapons, including guns made before 1880 and certain knives.

  12. To a degree I don't have a problem with the idea of owning a gun for personal protection, but education and regulation is necessary.

Firearms are pretty heavily regulated here in Canada, since gun registration is mandatory and you need a license. I have used a gun for hunting and sporting purposes before, but I don't feel I need to have one.

You have a very good point, Chimetals. There have been several years in Canada where knife homicides outnumbered gun homicides. But I mean, restricting knives would be much more difficult, since they're needed for everyday non-violent uses.

  13. It's no cheaper than the one on the Wii, even though this one doesn't have invincible zones where blue shells can't get you. Getting a star ranking's easier on this one, but anything more than one star can be pretty brutal and I'm working on getting two or three-star ranking.

We should play against each other sometime. Do you have me added on your 3DS?

  14. Regardless, I'd love to see someone perform surgery with his shoulder blades. Successfully, that is.

  15. That sounds like a lot of fun. It's a bit far for me right now, but if I end up going on a trip to Illinois I'll try to meet up with some Hnetters. I think the best way to convince the fiance to go would be the Blues Brothers.

  16. Because it's a question that makes for funny speculation.

Believe it or not though, I wasn't trolling. I legitimately wonder how Ganon could have been conceived, even though the resulting mental images make me want brain bleach.

  17. I've always been confused by the two mothers thing. Did they get impregnated while they were melded into Twinrova? Did they have to stay together throughout the entire pregnancy, or could they separate and each would be carrying half of Ganondorf?

  18. Just picked up and watched Redline on BD. So much fun.

I still need to see the Borrowers anime. I read the book when I was a kid, and I think there was a mediocre live-action film too.

I allso recently heard about Akage no An, which was an early project Miyazaki was involved with. Basically, it's a pretty faithful TV adaptation of Anne of Green Gables that somehow was never released in NA. I might check it out on my next day off.

  19. Yeah, Grave of the Fireflies had me bawling like a baby. I find some movies physically difficult to watch because of what the characters are going through. That one and Precious are two such films. I think I remember Black Snake Moan being that way at times too.
