The art style of Pokémon is just unacceptable these days.

Back then, they were simple and creative.

Now, the basic concept is, "Draw something. Don't stop drawing it until it passes a flashiness rating of 5000".

Some of them are OK, but for serious, new Pokémon keep looking lamer.

Like for serious, does anyone else not notice the distinct difference between 1-2nd gen and everything else since?

I noticed. But I just don't mind. Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza are all awful Pokémon. Also worth noting that after the 2nd generation, the rivals were all likable people, which is something I will never forgive Nintendo for. Hopefully they actually have a thing that they mix up shit after every two generations.

Generation III has my favourite set of Pokemon imo :/

Pokemon wise the gens go: Gen III - Gen II = Gen IV - Gen I

Damn you Lickilicky, Probopass, Magnezone and Tangrowth. Terrible Pokemon.

EDIT: I keep changing my mind! And yes, Tangela and Lickitung were perfectly good Pokemon. Misdreavus was a good standalone when it was, but Mismagius is kinda awesome for me.

One thing I hate is when they make a new generation of Pokémon and they add a horrible evolution to a Pokémon that looked fine before. Then you have to make sure you never evolve it, and that's just a pain.
