lately I've been watching a lot of anime and the most recent anime I've finished is gurren lagann, as a result i now want to buy a whole pile of merchandise from the series. you may think I'm going to b**** and complain about how broke i am but that can wait, I'm actually writing this to spread the word of gurren lagann's awsomeness. if you don't know what the hell I'm talking about let's just say it'll kick your butt until a planet in another dimension has a new moon.

Wrong section?

Also, I have a Gurren model and I'm wearing a core drill around my neck right now. Behind my head is a TTGL wall scroll.

I should watch GotF.

I know an avid fan of TTGL; he has a core drill too.

Anyways, I can't really say what I think is the best anime ever. There are too many masterpieces.

It's like choosing your favorite child, as pheonix said.

When people ask me about my drill, I say: "It's the physical manifestation of my manly soul! It represents me as a spiral being."

Nobody as yet to ask me about it.

Oh my god.

Saha is quoting something I have said before, outside of this thread, in relevance, instead of making his own analogy.

I'm so honored. ;-;

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann isn't about manliness.

Gosh.

It's about INTENSITY.

Manliness has nothing to do about anything.

I should watch GotF.

Do you have school tomorrow?

Are your eyes intact?

Are you busy?

No, Yes, No means you should watch it right now.

Is the English dub worth watching? I can't seem to find the first episode subbed.

It's good, but only in the uncut DVD version. You miss a lot of good scenes if you watch the dub online, since it's mostly tv recordings.

Like episode... 7? I think 7. It takes place place in a bath house where they run around and fight in the nude. In the tv english dub, the episode is 2/3rds a flash back. The original is all new content.

TTGL was indeed good stuff, but I don't consider it to be the greatest anime of all time.

Sure, its action sequences and epic manliness was awesome, but there were aspects in that show that could have been loads better.

And in terms of action and manliness, I'd say that Gurren Lagann might have some competition with Sengoku Basara.

Although SB didn't have a giant battle against an almighty being who could control the universe,

nor did it have an epic catchphrase like Gurren Lagann did.

TTGL got a 9/10 for me.

I came into this thread expecting Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.

REAL LINK, YOURS IS THE DRILL THAT WILL PIERCE THROUGH THE GATES OF HEAVEN.

I got my friend to watch it and I decided to watch the final episode one more time, like, a month ago. I was laughing and there was almost a few tears. So good.

Yeah, that about should definitely be a "with".

Point stands.

How long is the series? I want to see what it's about but I don't want another huge series to commit myself to. I already have my plate full from Bleach. :S
