Why is the controversy here?

It's perfectly understandable to have marriage beliefs and not intend to undergo them yourself. Just because you feel a certain way doesn't mean YOU HAVE to conform to them, yourself.

Everyone is allowed their own specific views on marriage, while I personally believe that marriage can be between anyone should both partners have mutual consent to it. I do not plan to marry.

Marriage isn't really even a requirement for people anyway.
