Nintendo doesn't need HD, though, it just needs more online games, I believe, like Monsuta Huntaaa or just games that are single player and bring them to multiplayer. Discuss.

So it's just the wii, but in High Definition? Alright, then.

If anyone else here is looking for a multiplayer online game for the wii, I strongly suggest Battalion Wars, Wii. The problem with that game is the vaguely ethnic could be racist cast of characters. The plot isn't too thick either, but the online gets pretty intense.

Pheonix, if you read the article, they're expecting this to not just be an HD Wii, note how I didn't write "Wii HD" in the topic. I did fuck it up, though.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo isn't as Jews as Microsoft enough to just make the Wii HD and sell it, they're planning something big, I'm hoping at least.

It's about time, I think. Generally new home consoles come out roughly once every 5-6 years. I don't think Nintendo's 'pushing' Sony and Mocrosoft to come out with new consoles, as the article suggests, since they'll be following roughly the same cycle. Hell, Sony's new handheld is coming out pretty soon to compete with the 3DS.

My guess is it won't be that different from the Wii except in terms of higher performance, probably with HD and possibly 3D-compatible visuals. That's always been an area Nintendo falls behind in, since they don't have the resources for building powerful hardware like Sony and Microsoft can. Still, they might surprise everyone and go in a different direction.

EDIT: Just found another article announcing the new console will be backwards compatible with the Wii and will be able to run at 1080p resolutions.
