In my class anyway. Ben told me I should make an art thread, so here I am starting it.

For those of you who don't know, I'm attending SCAD. (art school)

pretty much doing art and art things twenty four seven.

Lately I've been in sort of an art block with non observational stuff...

But hey, here's a sketch to start this thread off.

I've been wondering if I can get into a better art school, actually. NIU has a great Illustration program, which is going to be my major, and Disney takes interns from here. But I don't know what other schools to look to?

Try the Seattle Art Institute, I hear they got great art programs (I even seen some of their work and they are amazing)

I love the angle of the girl's body in that sketch, and the glasses.

The name of the thread also amuses me. I remember auditing an art history class and enjoying it when I was at UVic.

Guess what matters when choosing an art institute is where you see your art going right now. If you want to go into animation I'm sure some schools focus more on that, whereas others would put more emphasis on graphics design, sculpture or 'fine' arts.

BUT YAH. Benjomans, the area is kind of ghetto here, but I love my classes and the student work posted in the hallways is fantabuloussss even for freshmen. it makes me angst inside.

SCAD is really digitally oriented, but REALLY EXPENSIVE. (though, of all the art schools they like to give out scholarships like candy)

If you want tips on different schools you should message me on skype or something.

Also, Arachne, everyone is half asleep in my art history class lol (or drawing and not paying attention). The teacher is pretty monotone and the lights are always off for the projector. She's kind of a cute older lady, it's just she isn't the best at making things interesting. I guess it isn't that bad, but it's obvious everyone would rather be somewhere else.

Herp derp, messed around with a fountain pen today. I'M GOING TO MAKE COMICS SOON GAIS.
