Aww, you. You're too kind. Keep it up and you'll make me blush.

I like to think I'm pretty okay, though I definitely have moments that make me wonder!

Howdy, everybody. I know I've kind of fallen away from the forums over the past year and a half or so, but I haven't forgotten you all! Things have just gotten busy with college and preparing for the future and all that fun important stuff, so I haven't really had the time to come back here. I've been a member for a really long time, though I used to use the screen name shadowknight5070574 back in the day, and I still think very highly of this community.

Anyway, I'm a full-time student with an interest in theology, literature, music, coffee, and many other things, so feel free to ask me anything that comes to mind. I promise I'll answer to the best of my ability!

Well, as of right now I'm still in undergrad, so I'm actually studying English. Seminary is a grad program, so I won't get to experience studying theology in a particularly academic setting until then. However, that is not to say I'm not doing any independent study, because I most certainly am. I tend to focus on a topic for an extended period of time, like a certain Christian denomination or historical heresy, but recently I've been branching out into researching more traditional philosophy, particularly Greek philosophy, though that's mainly because I'm seeing the influence it has on most literature. Theology is something I'm very passionate about (which is good, since I plan to go into it professionally), so reading great theologians is something that keeps me very happy and entertained; I frequently find that I lose track of time when I start reading.

I'm currently reading "The City of God" by St. Augustine, which is relevant.

I'll be honest, I very much miss being an active part of this community. College has changed things for me so drastically, however, and I'm having a hard time finding opportunities to come back with any frequency.

Guys, I'm doing a bad thing by being on the forums right now. I should be working on one of my four papers, but it's 4:50 AM and I've been working on a character analysis of Pandarus from Chaucer's "Troilus and Criseyde" for almost 8 hours straight. This makes me really sad, and it's compounded by the fact that I have an 8 AM class. Again, it doesn't help that the class in question is German, and my professor is probably going to make me say things aloud.

Anyhow, expect actually relevant posts from me later. My participation at the moment is limited by the fact that I actually do need to get back to work on this paper. I've got 13 pages done out of what's supposed to be a 16 page draft, so I'll be surprised if these last few pages are of an even somewhat decent quality. But yeah, I hope you're all doing well.

So, my parents were a lot less supportive the second time I talked to them. Basically, they said they would give me no support of any form. I was frustrated so I quickly ended the conversation and decided to take an introvert day, where I just sat in my apartment and played videogames and watched Sherlock. I did talk to my sister later that night, though, and by the next day I was back out and about, being social and whatnot.

Fast forward three days, and I get another call from my mom. She apologizes, mentions that my grandma is going to be calling me soon, and says she would like us to actually talk about it. We got to at least a neutral point, which is a lot better than the open hostility of the second phone call. As it turns out, my sister told my grandma what was happening and my grandma got super mad, leading her to yell at my mom about supporting her child and stuff. This prompted the apologetic phone call. Everything is a lot better, we've talked about the future, and it looks like everything is going to be okay.

    I love my grandma.

Interesting thing: this Spring Break, I have no idea what I'm doing. Next Spring Break, however, it's looking like me and several of my friends will be driving up to St. Louis for the week. Aren't there a lot of members of this community from there?
