If heaven is run by a "benevolent dictator" and is compared to a communist state, and Lucifer tried to rally other inhabitants of heaven to rise up and be individuals instead of bowing before a dictator, are you implying that 1980s President Ronald Reagan would attempt to intervene in Heaven and support a CIA-backed coup in the name of Lucifer?

Holy puppy the Muslims were right about America and black people were right about Reagan. This is why Muslims call us The Great Satan and black people think Ronald Reagan is the devil.

What if you are a trans woman who died in the middle of the penis-to-vagina surgery (whatever the name for that is), how would you come back? Would the wounds be fresh and unhealed? Would they have the penis or the vagina?

    Heaven sounds really leftist, ironically

I know that polyamory in general is prevalent in the animal kingdom. But I mean exclusive marriage amongst humans; I'm sure Mormonism doesn't promote non-married polygynies. Exclusive marriage between multiple women and one man being widespread makes no sense in a religion that wants you to be married at all unless Mormonism magically made the male-to-female birth ratio skewed hard for female births or killed a ton of the male population.

I don't look down on polygamy, I'm saying that, specifically, a religion that promotes a gender-biased polygamy whatsoever makes no sense (and is also incredibly sexist) because a conventional religion wishes to be widespread and believed by all. If everyone believed it was okay to be heterosexual polygamists, men wouldn't have enough women for everybody, which is a paradox if your religion prefers you be married.

Like in the simplest terms possible, how can, say, 100 men all get wives if there are an equal amount of women, and some of the men have more than one woman? Some men wouldn't get a wife at all. If your religion wants you to have a wife, widespread gender-biased heterosexual polygamist marriage makes no sense.

Fine if Mormons are nice people and they don't think polygamy is a natural state of humanity. But then that contradicts the belief system they live and die by. It's picking and choosing, and if you can pick and choose a document you base your whole life on, then why do you continue to believe it? It's supposed to all be 100% true because the literal omnipotent and omnipresent God of the Universe says it is. Like if I made a religion that believes the sun is actually a giant floating spotlight that is unidirectional and shines only on Earth, and that the Earth is the center of the universe. That is demonstratably wrong, so why would a religion that contains such a completely wrong error be allowed to proliferate faith over logic? Like why do people still use the King James Bible? Wasn't that literally acknowledged to have been tampered with to fit someone's agenda?

This isn't Wikipedia, you can't just say "Oh, that was just a typo", this is what wars are fought over. In my opinion, religious texts should be held to the highest level of scrutiny imaginable to be logically consistent, even moreso than scientific peer review, because you're not believing it based on any evidence or anything, you're believing it based on how your brain reacts to images and sounds, with emotions that are easily twisted and deceived. So if you want to believe on something based on nothing, you better be damn sure you're willing to agree with it, and say it's all true, or you should work towards understanding how reality really works so that we can fix realistic problems with realistic solutions.

Snap Judgements (Unlearning Your Inherent Intolerance)

Somehow, I came across this site while procrastinating. It's a totally "hip" site about tolerance and stuff and aimed at "Millennials". You can proceed to the site (you shouldn't), or you can take these quick tests. You are asked a question such as "who is the mathematician?" and then given picture of two people. In the case of the mathematician question, you are shown a white woman and an Oriental. Fortunately, my heart isn't full of hate and intolerance so I picked the white woman as the mathematician. Why? Because I just knew. The test then showed that I was correct. You guys should see how many of them you can take until your sickening bias and hatred totally cloud your judgment.

cheat codes: if it asks you to pick the person who is mayor, a Harvard graduate, or some other generic "successful" role, bet on black. Or the woman. Or the younger of the two. Repeat until you are a good person.

Personally, I am glad to see MTV making great strides for equality and tolerance with scattered, cherry-picked, anecdotal examples of people who aren't true to stereotypes that MTV itself is fully acknowledging and accidentally reinforcing. To try to implement any kind of difficulty level to these tests is acknowledging and giving power to the stereotypes that it's half-assedly trying to break.

I like to compare the site to someone who says stuff like "I don't think black people are illiterate, uneducated criminals AT ALL!!"

    But no, Mormons are weird.

I'm not gonna tell you about their weird underwear, the weird history or their weird beliefs. But I'll tell you about a group of Mormons in my city. In a youth group for girls, they are taught how to sew and cook and stuff. And anytime there was a gathering of the youth group that required food, they went all out and brought a feast. And the girls' youth group also had an exercise or something in which they all wrote letters to their future husbands. That was really creepy to me.

And the males all have to go do a "mission". Their missionary work isn't going to another country and helping others and trying to sneak in Christianity (like other missions). Their mission involves wearing a tucked-in white shirt and a tie and riding bikes around neighborhoods, annoying people in their homes. Literally no one wants to hear about the pitch for Mormonism from a Mormon, so they make sure and use the incredibly long and misleading name for their religion. And they're too nice so you almost feel bad for slamming the door on them.

Maybe it just has to do with all of us getting older? It's not like I've always got time to be on hnet whenever I want to really. Having more active members couldn't hurt, though. Glad to see you're back, Arcane and Min.

I saw Les Miserables in theaters alone as soon as they opened at like 10 am. I saw it with my friend the night before, and I got home late. I attempted to go to bed, but all of the songs were stuck in my head and I didn't sleep at all.
