    So I was talking to my friend last night, and he told me about how he paid for the pieces and built his desktop computer himself for cheaper than what a macbook costs, and it runs way better. So I'm thinking I'd like to save up my money and build one.

      pheo I am leaning towards the same thing, I love my mac because of its ease of use but man am I envious of the power that pcs have

      Seriously. I mean if it were a desktop it'd have more power than my laptop anyways but If I want to be a professional digital painter I need to be able to work in file sizes bigger than 1200x2500 pixels. 300dpi is already pushing it, and photoshop lags if I try to use any of the fancier custom brushes, let alone dual textures. It's a good way of forcing me to learn rendering with the basic five or six round brushes though, but I'm rambling.

      I bought a Mac Pro (not a MacBook Pro) last year. I returned it a week later and had a legendary PC built for half the price. More than twice the power of the Mac Pro, too.
