Jared, if you weren't gay I'd swear you were straight.

You've got so many females up on your facebook.

It is good to see you, Jared. Pretty sure I saw Fort posting new threads, too. All these Hnet members coming out of the woodwork, yay.

    Life isn't hell, either.

It's a good mix of the two, with ups and downs that vary in degree based on a wide range of things. Race, Sex, Income, Caste, etc.

I'm not asking you to be overwhelming optimistic. That blinds you from terrible situations. But on the opposite end of the spectrum, being cynical blinds you from the goodness in people. Just be careful about going against the popular choice in every situation. Just because something is popular doesn't make it wrong.

That said, I agree that a healthy dose of skepticism does the body good.

I took 'em off my back pack because im afraid they'll be plucked off and stolen right off my back. I was reading about the pre-game concept of the badges on bulbapedia and apparently they were originally like patches. Which I like that idea better because they'd stay on easier and make way cooler accessories. And you could just have like one on your hat or one on you shoulder or bag or whatever and it'd look cool. I'm afraid that if I don't display my badges in their 8 piece sets, it'd come off as tacky, i unno. But here's some beta badges seen on game art.

Teto, that sounds like a good movie. I'm always interested in school shootings in fiction. I like to see why people do such awful things. Like actually WHY. Also probably because at my first high school, kids kept telling the teachers that I had bombs in my locker. Whenever they saw a list of names they assumed it was a hit list. Things like that made me change schools.

PS- Don't let your drama teacher over hear your talking to others about your dreams or else she'll report you for wanting to kill people in a futuristic sky colossem death match....

Never really been able to envision people's real faces online. I really do just associate people with their avatars. I don't really usually think about what the person looks like irl unless their avatar is their face.
Which is probably related somehow to whatever reason I have for changing my avatar so much.

So yeah I never really imagined Rika as being not anime. But yes Rika you do look lovely.

I swear to god, this could be cirt. This /should/ be cirt. By which I mean, I told her I was going to draw a portrait of her in my own blood if she never wrote saha back, and she never did. Literally the one thing keeping me from doing it is the fact that I think she'd call the cops.

Woah, really? I always thought Arachne was one of those muffin aged members. I've been around longer than her?

Also can we just move all of this into the talk thread?
  11. Jareddude liked a post in a topic by Ammonsa in How would you feel if a different country BURNT your country flag?
lolwat. A different country? They belong to Australia as much as we do. More so.

In regards to actually burning. It doesn't bother me that much, honestly. Like, I understand why other people would be bothered. I don't know why I'm not. I guess I'm just not that patriotic or something. Or maybe I just don't find value in the Australian flag. It doesn't inspire me. The Union Jack inspires me. The American flag inspires me. But not our flag. There is such a symbolism present in those flags that I just don't see in ours. Maybe if it looked nicer or something idk.

    Maybe I'm a bad person.

That would be the lamest thing ever and I would ban anyone who actually wants to join on that premise.

If I remember properly, somebody said something about making guides. What ever happened to that?
  15. Jareddude liked a post in a topic by Sahaqiel in "I remember a time before status updates and picture threads. A simpler time, that was a lot more active than it is now."
Before status updates and picture threads, folks had to make new threads for the most minute things. So it looked like we were always busy, even if the threads often died. And new users would actually come here.

That being said, new users tend to not come here. Jared thinks the "quilt of friendship" is deteriorating. It's more that the quilt is too strong. I haven't seen a new face that's stuck around since Cascade. I'm really getting less and less tolerant of people scaring away new members or just generally being abrasive when they do come around expecting at least Zelda Fans, when even those who like or have played Zelda games will tell them straight up that they don't like the series, whether it be for a reaction or to avoid discussing it at all. What kind of progress as a forum can we make with an attitude like that?

When Dustin was the owner, he made every effort to load Hnet up with a bunch of features, whether they were used or not, and he tried really hard to get a lot of users. We'd get people of all kinds of demographics, and since even the people that stayed here didn't have any social standing, no one shut anyone else out and we adapted to and accepted different ways of thinking, even if they were less tolerable than others. Now we're just a clique made up of smaller cliques. I haven't seen very many warm, nice welcomes from a large majority of you in awhile. Mostly just one line comments that don't make sense in context for the newcomer and just general being a jerk.

POKEMON FUSIONS. I HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE PERSONA BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THIS IS. YOU WILL NOW CATCH YOUR POKEMON THROUGH SOCIAL LINKS TOO.

^this, as much as I love the Pokemon games dearly, it's really needed a drastic change for some time, y'know? I'm really interested to see where these games are going. Hopefully we won't have to be waiting long for more information!

Also I think I heard that there would be special features for people playing the game on the 3DS/DSi???? I need to find where I saw that, but there you go Nintendo's way of selling more 3DSes, if true, lol.

Also I still totally think of Persona Fusion when I look at those Kyurem forms, that'd actually be p. pro if Pokemon did that lolll.

I really hope the red & blue does mean ruby/sapphire = Hoenn ;_; I WANT MY REMAKE IN SOME SHAPE OR FORM also Hoenn is the best designed region imo, aaaaaaaa so pretty <3

God why are people complaining about this?
Oh no Pokemon didn't do exactly the same thing it's done for the past 10 years. Boo hoo something new and different and unexpected.

Personally, I'm really excited that they didnt stick to the same old formula.

    Dear People,
I would like to inform you all of something important that is happening in my life. Over the past several years I have been intensely exploring who I am.

    I’m transgender.

I have gender identity disorder meaning I was born with a male body, but I have a female gender identity. It’s something I’ve dealt with for as long as I can remember, mostly by trying to pretend it was not there. Growing up was hard enough, but I also had to deal with growing up in a way that felt completely and utterly wrong. I pretended that I really was a guy from skin to soul, and actually ended up doing a pretty good job of it, for the most part. I made some friends and even had a few girlfriends. But it all felt hollow to me. Every time I looked in the mirror I saw a strangers face and not my own. Whenever I tried to have a relationship my gender issues kept getting in the way. I felt like I was living a stunted existence.
Something had to break, and late last year, I finally admitted to myself that continuing to run from the fact would only make things worse. Of course, by acknowledging that, I had just cast my entire future into doubt. How was being transgender going to affect my family? What about my friends? My job prospects? I didn’t have any answers at first, but after months of late night conversations with my friends, I gradually became able to figure out the answers.
To understand transgender people, you need to understand the concept of gender identity. It is an unfamiliar term to most people because it’s something that the vast majority of people never have to think about. The gender between your ears is the same as the one on your birth certificate, and that’s that. For transpeople, things are not so simple. There’s a disconnect between the way that we see ourselves and the role we’re expected to play by society. When we inevitably end up acting in like ‘tomboys’ or ‘sissies,’ or 'faggots' we end up getting ostracised by our “friends”. To make things even worse, during puberty we end up changing in ways that make us feel like our own body is betraying us.
Thankfully there is a way for a transpeople to live reasonably normal lives: transition. It’s a process that tends to get glossed over by the media as ‘getting a sex change,’ equating the surgery at the end to the process itself, but this not only trivializes the experience, it misses the point. Transpeople do not just go out and ‘get a sex change,’ as if they were getting a facelift or a boob job. Transition is an extremely long process, with a duration measured in years. Typically, transition begins with seeing a psychologist for an extended period followed by hormone replacement therapy, allowing the transitioner to gradually slip into the gender role they identify with. Think of it as a second puberty, only this time with professional supervision. It’s usually only after someone has been living in their desired gender role for a year or more that they opt for sex reassignment surgery. And even then, many people don’t get it done, either because they don’t see it as necessary, or because they can’t afford it.
I haven’t begun my transition just yet. Well, I suppose you could consider this letter my official declaration of transition. But I have not begun hormones and I’ve certainly not had surgery. I’m full of hope for the future, but also fear. I need as many people as I can with me to help me through my journey.
If you have any questions I haven’t covered here, feel free to ask.
Thank you for reading what might possibly be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to post.

Edit: I'm sure uh, most of you already know what being transgender entails as we're a pretty good forum in regards to that, this is just a mass letter to everyone though so...

I liked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I liked the dark sense in that version more. However I didn't like the dark feel of Alice in Wonderland.
