I'd link the topic but I feel that it no longer represents the majority of people who posted in it. Suffice to say you are all better people now. to answer the questions:
 
-The gender thread was caused by a lack of exposure to the topic on some people's part and a heavy exposure on others. People with no understanding of gender not equaling sex were having a hard time acclimating to a groundbreaking concept and people with deep understanding were naturally eager to encourage them accepting the concept. The best way to avoid this in the future is to understand that concepts sometimes take getting used to before you straight-up accept them.
 
-The value compromised most by the Gender thread was friendship, plain and simple. We all want to get along, and when the concept of gender =/= sex divided opinions people got scared that we wouldn't be able to get along. You can't really walk away from a topic like that either though, because it compels you to stand up for something you deeply believe in. We were stuck between a rock and a hard place, and it scared a lot of people because it made the value of friendship so hard to keep.

Also @Friend Safari: Can you get Pokémon with their Hidden Abilities from people's safaris even if they aren't online? Like, is it just a lesser chance than if they're online? Or is it not possible AT ALL. Because I recently added someone I met via tumblr because they have bergmite in their safari and goddamn they are never online so I've caught about 20 bergmites without sturdy and it's probably futile, ain't it. lol. ): i just want my walking iceberg with a good ability...

So yeah, discuss this exciting news!! I think the new game looks really cute! The kawaii version of ALttP if you will. Of course I went there. But no, really. The new mechanics so far look like they'll make for a wee bit of freshness in dungeon-crawling. Couldn't have said that better myself. This is exactly what I'm thinking when I'm watching this show. It's really unfortunate that they even went this route for a show with such good music, animation and a generally fun atmosphere.

The NPCs in there always mention it's existence but I have not seen anything in-game that could possibly get you it.
